hi x, i'm new here 🎀

quick story:

i came to america as a war refugee, separated from my dad. i couldn't even say hello in english.

but I learned fast and wrote a book about my experiences at 9. my writing got published. three times.

it gets more unhinged from here:

at 15, i started a biotech company. it was nationally recognized, 7 times.
at 16, Berkeley accepted me on a full scholarship.
at 17, i scrubbed into surgery in a syrian hospital.
at 18, i built a nonprofit branch to ship medical supplies back to hospitals like that one.

and now, at 19: i bet everything on @Lumeria_Skin, the oura ring for skin. we're a @ycombinator company (S26).

more normal stuff:
>25M+ views across my UGC + lifestyle content
>8+ projects with @Pfizer, @PBS + more
>a $25,000 scholarship from taco bell (mm, cheesy gordita crunch)
>6,667 hours playing the sims
>still cannot parallel park (fatal in SF)

none of this was a plan. i was scared for every single line and did it anyway.

We applied to @ycombinator 30 seconds before the deadline, had 5 major typos we couldn't edit after, and watched people on X get interviews within days while we heard nothing (thought it was joever).

1 month later, I was booking a highly overpriced, last minute flight to be in SF for <24 hours to interview with @bosmeny and @borisjabes!

And now, we're more than 1 month into grinding out the S26 batch :)

F26 applications are due tonight. Apply, no matter how rough the application is or how late! You never know what kind of miracles happen overnight.

Attached is the 67th take of our founder video in my Berkeley dorm common room (had a resident ask why she heard the same script a million times across 4 days). Your journey can truly start anywhere :p

@AlexSchoonkind @garrytan @ycombinator it’ll be able to help you track potential moles and see under the surface for depth changes, etc that the naked eye can’t see, all from your home! That way you can be notified when a change does occur that could be dangerous and need a biopsy

@HaimBender @ycombinator you can always just edit your application after with increased traction or reapply if you get rejected! You can be surprised and it’s better to shoot your shot then miss one because you’re too scared and delay trying☀️
