2. Thank you to the vast majority of drone operators for flying responsibly. Unfortunately there were a few that disregarded the crowd overflight rule or were oblivious to it. If you have a drone / model aircraft please familiarise yourself with the 'Drone Code'. Happy flying.^JB
1. Congratulations to CCFC on their promotion. Fantastic celebrations yesterday with the Parade and the 'We are Back!' event in the park. Here are a couple of shots from our footage. Well done City and we'll done Coventry.
@UKDroneClub ๐๐ผ Hello there. I've been busy on another project (and still am). Nobody else has picked up the joys of social media ๐ We're considering the use of other platforms or just putting comms out via the main force channels. Also, there's a shift away X. Hope club is going well. ^JB
@davidebrady Good afternoon David. Sorry for the late reply, we've been very busy in Coventry today. No we don't, is the simple answer. We're very experienced flying at sporting events here in the West Midlands. Our routes and hover points are never over crowds. ^JB.
2. The restricted airspace is just one of the measures we have taken to help this event be safe & secure. Size & duration have been kept minimal to reduce any disruption or inconvenience. WMP apply in collaboration with the CAA, it is introduced by the SoS for Transport. ^JB

WMP will have drone enforcement teams actively patrolling the area around Birmingham City Centre. These specialist officers are able to detect, track and identify drone activity. Those that breach regulations could have their equipment seized and face prosecution. ^JB
@leicesterdrones Hi. RA(T)s are a common part of our POPS 'Public Order Public Safety' plan to police large-scale events. Very much like road closures. Relying on the 'no crowd overflight' rule means waiting for the offence to be committed. This restriction gives us preventive powers.

@SteveWensley2 Hi Steve. I believe the front sensors are in the black grills. I would say two in the centre grill and one each in the front nearside and offside. It may be a couple of days before I can confirm this.
@UAVHive@LincsCOPter @ianmac67_SE The vast majority, if not all Police forces, have their own PDRA01 OA. I dare say there may be the odd OSC out there to cover some police operations. In regards to 'Standards' - an APP is being written by the college, and the police use of drones is over seen by the NPCC. ^JB
Your Police and Crime Commissioner, @SimonFosterPCC, joined @dronesWMP officers in #Birmingham to witness the high-spec mini aircrafts in use and to see their significance in helping teams on the ground ๐ช
