Don't hurt my family and send me a Christmas card. Don't reveal yourself to be a bigot and ask me how my weekend went. Don't vote for evil and assume my ongoing goodwill. Don't be indecent and expect civility in return.
"you wouldn't like this relationship if it was your real life relationship" correct, and that's why I'm reading about it in fiction where it's all for fun and no-one is actually having to deal with falling in love with someone they know wants to kill them
I'm the guy who named all the batteries (A, AA, AAA, AAAA) so I thought I'd offer a chemical engineering breakdown of how they got these names:
1.) I am afraid of electricity
my last post about the legality of ships has somehow developed some "unless it's CP" "IDC as long as they're adults" my dudes you still have a spot of unpacking to do there.
(and don't get me started on the use of CP)
Is that what you think happened? Or, and follow me here, did, particularly white LGB folks push trans folks off a ledge like a ritual sacrifice to white supremacy without realizing that in order to push someone off a ledge, you, yourself have to be on the very same ledge?
Respectability politics are 100% rape culture dynamics at a legislative level
“Nobody would hurt us if we’d all just conform better” = dressing modestly as defense against rape
It doesn’t work & never has
The queerphobes they want us dead, whether we go quietly or not
If you don’t think “we have to ban transgenderism entirely” counts as genocidal rhetoric, I would encourage you to swap in another group for trans people and see if a lightbulb goes off for you and then consider that trans people are also people.
Every day on this god damn website I see a 15 year old saying some shit like "if you wake up tired, it's because of something called Sleep Trauma, you're a victim of Bed Violence" and ten thousand comments saying oh my god that's so true
As an autistic person, making decisions can be hard for me, because my loyalty to my values and need for things to feel right make it hard for me to accept any option that doesn’t feel 100% right to me, and it’s rare that any path ever feels 100% right, because life is nuanced.
My "high functioning autism" is basically everyone else seeing me as "completely normal but maybe just a bit picky/particular"... while internally it's me in constant sensory overload, social overload, and fighting against my executive dysfunction to just do stuff
I think we really need to just emphasize how this is the Normal Person Stance to have. The belief that "hey yeah it's kinda wrong and messed up to suibait people over fictional ships" should be the Default Stance to have in fandom (and in life), full stop.
Saying "I can't believe y'all are taking this Proship/Antiship so seriously, there's war and natural disasters happening lol!" is ignoring the VOLUMES of evidence on how this fandom discourse shit has affected REAL people, particularly marginalized folks who often are ignored.
