Banaras hindu university hospital (IMS-BHU) should be investigated for repeated Suicides of their resident doctors
Dr. Ritwik Kundu, a first-year Anaesthesiology resident at IMS-BHU, reportedly died by suicide. Just months ago, a female surgery resident Dr. Sai Satya also did suicide attempt after which she has now succumb to injuries.
The residents there should also learn that boot licking of Toxic people in the dept just to pass smoothly is a sign of a lost dignity and self integrity , “joote chaat kar degree to bacha logey , khoi hui dignity kabhi nhi milegi” and you guys also promote toxicity by allowing it to happen rather than thrashing them .
If multiple such tragedies emerge from the same institution, the system running be it the HODs of depts and their Dean should be under scrutiny If allegations of harassment , toxic work culture or ignored grievances are found to be true those responsible must face the wrath of law .

One of the most troubling tendencies among psychiatrists and other MH professionals here is their readiness to pathologize dissent. If you disagree strenuously with them, it’s never, “Maybe you have a point.” It’s always, “I wonder what happened to you?”
I've often wondered what drives our need to classify madness. I've come to believe it’s not “compassion for the sick,” but terror in the face of the other: those who don’t think like you, or act like you, or speak like you, or experience the world as you do.
The Emperor Has No Clothes — And 15% of Americans Are Still Following Him
It’s time to say what too few in the psychiatric establishment will admit: the emperor has no clothes.
Right now, 1 in 7 Americans is on an antidepressant. That’s tens of millions of people taking drugs that were never proven to work beyond a year—and in many cases, never proven to work at all.
The original trials? Short-term, biased, and designed for marketing—not medicine. Most lasted only 6 to 8 weeks. But the prescriptions didn’t stop. They became indefinite. Lifelong. A chemical leash handed out for everything from grief to job stress to ordinary sadness.
And for what?
Not only is there no long-term evidence of benefit, but there’s growing concern that for some people, these drugs may actually make things worse. Withdrawal symptoms that mimic relapse. Emotional blunting. Sexual dysfunction that doesn’t go away. And even persistent worsening of mood—what some call tardive dysphoria, the cousin of tardive dyskinesia.
This isn’t just a crack in the story. It’s a collapse of the narrative.
But like the townspeople in the fable, most doctors and policymakers still play along, applauding the emperor’s invisible robes. They hand out prescriptions, talk about “serotonin imbalances,” and ignore the fact that the data doesn’t support what they’re doing—especially not over years or decades.
It’s not ungrateful or anti-science to point this out. It’s honest. The scientific process is supposed to question, refine, and improve—not protect a myth because it’s profitable or comfortable.
The emperor has no clothes. Antidepressants are not the long-term solution we’ve been told they are. And it’s time we stopped pretending.
RIP Dr. Anurag Kumar, Psychiatry, AIIMS Delhi.
We lost a Gem today. He committed suicide Today by Jumping from 10th floor of Aiims Hostel Building. Severe Depression is the cause of his sad Demise.
May his soul Rest In Peace.

▪️ Understand. One cannot raise his voice even by being a judge. And if you have courage then the punishment is fixed, even if you are not a judge.
