Greater Chennai Corporation has suspended six officials, including 4 senior officers, on serious corruption charges.

Moves initiated to remove them from service, with criminal proceedings against at least four.

As I repeatedly say, the intention and effort to weed out corruption from Tamil Nadu is genuine.

The GCC commissioner says that the Chief Minister has ordered to take a non compromising stand on corruption.

Until yesterday, the discussion was about party funds. Today, the public has raised concerns about the Mayor Fund.

Corruption is deeply entrenched.

All these complaints warrant a detailed and impartial investigation.

As mentioned earlier, automatic approvals, minimal or no personal discretion, full process transparency, and citizen vigilance are the key steps required for the future. We should make it difficult for anyone in government to even ask for money.

This is a golden opportunity to eliminate corruption from Tamil Nadu. Both the government and the public need to work together towards this goal.

I really don’t know how it works in other medical colleges in our country, but in my college the situation is pathetic.

You can’t work in such an environment.

Constant taunts from seniors.
Seniors firing juniors.
Expecting us to do clerical work.

Collecting hard copies of reports of every patient while taking shit from the lab assistants.

It’s like these lab assistants give us so much attitude as if they are doing some favor to us.

Imagine standing outside the labs for the entire night while we can only talk to them through this small window, which is 90% closed.

Imagine a poor intern (me) standing there at 3 a.m. with no sleep, probably 20k steps done, and begging for a report which, if not collected within certain minutes, can get me shouted at and humiliated.

We have been constantly called from the ward to carry blood samples from ward to lab because either the MTS is on lunch break, tea break, dinner break, is late, or is too busy.

We are so busy doing this stupid job that I haven’t got any chance to do any procedure or anything.

And my interest in doing any procedure has come down to zero.

I know nobody’s going to read this, and even if it is read by millions, nothing’s going to change.
We are supposed to be happy in this work because we are getting paid (peanuts!).

This is the worst experience.

NEET was never about merit in the first place. Just because the “social justice” side opposed it, people assumed it must be about merit.

It replaced one pay-to-play model with another pay-to-play model.

Pre NEET :

- Anyone could buy a seat
- Seat was bought with black money
- Amount was not regulated
- Multiple exams

Post NEET :

- ~~Cut off for buying seat~~ (No longer the case now)
- Seat bought with white money
- Amount regulated
- Single exam

The game is the same as before.The moneyed folks always had(and will always have) a “lateral” entry . To believe otherwise is a triumph of hope over experience.
