@JamieNNeedham Do you know how convenient it was to basically ask how humid it is outside? Siri has always kind of been useless, but I don't know how it can lose a feature. Now it just gives me the definition or the air pressure when I ask.
A beautiful lightning show last night over the newly constructed Bowers Stadium facility at @SamHoustonState. They literally put the letters on a few days ago @BearkatSports
Storms created large hail, with a report of baseball, and confirmed reports of quarter-sized hail nearby
Speaking of El Paso, the fabled Pancho's Mexican Buffet got its start in that West Texas city back in 1958. Traces of Texas reader Franco Ruiz kindly sent in this photo and asked "Traces, when's the last time you raised the flag?" I thought about it and can't remember, exactly, but it must have been in the 1980s. And then I thought that it's a shame that there is a whole generation of Texans that have grown up not knowing what "raise the flag" means. I realize that there are still four Panchos in Texas, but unless you live in D-FW or Houston, you're not going to be tasting the epic goodness of their sopapillas.
When's the last time YOU raised the flag?

With all we try to explain regarding the hurricane forecast cone, I hope there aren't many meteorologists sharing this graphic. The "landing area" makes it look as if the possibility of landing on terrain is part of the plan.
After months of work, the Louisiana Office of State Climatology is proud to announce the launch of our new website: https://t.co/NckLnZ0k9G ... there is a wealth of information available to users of all types! Take some time to explore it and we will appreciate any feedback!
A U.S. Navy veteran with no known family will be laid to rest Tuesday in Nashville with full military honors. 🇺🇸
Lonnie D. Wayman’s service is set for 9 a.m. at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. The public is invited to attend and help ensure the unclaimed veteran is honored and not laid to rest alone. 🎖️

We will be treated with a gift from Mother Nature Tuesday morning with a selenelion eclipse. Both the eclipsed moon (western horizon) and the sun (eastern horizon) will be visible in the sky at the same time.
My first trip over the recently repainted Paris Road Green Bridge. I haven't felt so at home in years. This is the very first bridge I ever crossed. 🟢⚜️
AI SLOP: This problem will never go away, but the amount of AI “slop” from social media engagement farms continues to grow exponentially.
Why do I care? When dramatic, fake forecasts like these don’t verify (and they almost never do), people start lumping legitimate meteorologists in with the nonsense. Eventually you hear: “They’re always wrong.”
That loss of trust is dangerous — especially when a real warning finally does come.
If people are told every week that a monster snowstorm or tornado outbreak is coming, they stop paying attention, they stop preparing, and they delay action when it actually matters
False alarms numb people. Tornadoes and other high impact weather events don’t forgive complacency.
The most disturbing posts are the ones that show AI generated severe weather outlooks, that are very similar to the real ones issued by NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center.
Do, you know my charge to you this morning. Please THINK before you share!!!
It's that time of year when all of the meteorologists post memes proving how much smarter they are than a groundhog because it doesn't have a meteorology degree or something. I for one love the tradition. 🇺🇸
@Fox26Mike In 2021 I thought GoogleMaps was glitching with "Uri" plastered everywhere. I thought maybe it was some sort of coding issue, and was further confused because Texas was clear of any sort of alert, until it finally dawned on me. I can't imagine how confused non-mets must've felt.
