Last night we launched our Live Drive Ride like a local campaign with Dr Marilyn Johnson @amygillettfdn@MonashUni and Dr Vanessa Johnston @RMIT in Victoria’s Alpine Shire. Focussing on how locals and visitors use greetings and respect to share the roads. https://t.co/7xdYCD6ffT
@JenniferDillPSU I’m late to the party, and not an American, but would add JSKs Streetfight and Jane Jacobs classic, death and life of great American cities. Two more Women for your list!
Honourable mention would be Carlton Reid’s books on bikes too.
We are proud to be running a project on safe road sharing in the Alpine Shire, with @amygillettfdn @monashada @MonashCivil and @RMITGSBL please fill out our survey! https://t.co/0RrQrWOTOF
One week after our elevated railway is built over Bell St and shock horror the #congestion is still there! Perhaps the problem was the #cars, not the trains?
#cargobike testing in our lab over the last month had revealed, wait for it, that these vehicles are really useful and can replace a lot of car trips. We are loving the investigation of what makes #bicycles fit for purpose and how design can make a difference.
@ElliotFishman Well today I tried it out. As I guessed, I was denied care for not being in a “motorised vehicle” (their words). The worst part is that the lovely healthcare worker explained that as well as me, she’d turned away dozens of people today for the same reason. #HealthcareHeroes
Wow. My government are providing better access to healthcare for people “in vehicles”. I think they mean cars. Can we show up on bikes? What about the thousands of Victorians who can’t or choose not to own cars?
Happy world bicycle day! Today I celebrate my family workhorse, the Surly Big Dummy cargo bike. Thousands of kilometres and happy days. No car required. Research on bicycle design is ongoing in the Mobility Design Lab. #changeit
