@caldwelldublin1 @ONT_Dad The OCT reports here for 2020… I don’t see 2021 on the website yet. https://t.co/rgu7105Drd… as for meetings you would need to contact the college to see how to attend meetings. Not all parts are open to public/members. My college does a live YouTube stream for meetings.
@caldwelldublin1 @ONT_Dad The books are audited annually and the results should be presented to membership at the AGM. My college puts them on the website https://t.co/NNf6vPYsOg
@SpecialEdPirate@ONT_Dad My college is https://t.co/oJfGU2Tlsw… which is 8-9 ODs, 8-9 appointees… currently it’s 9-8 ODs with 1 university rep but that’s the govt fault… it will balance back quickly to 9-9-1.
@SpecialEdPirate@ONT_Dad You may wish to check again… 12 members of which one is elected to be chair… so currently a lawyer. She sets agenda but teachers have a 6-5 vote as chair doesn’t vote unless a tie. Teachers control the voting but not the topics necessarily. https://t.co/0JkdLbmO84
@SpecialEdPirate@ONT_Dad The College of Physicians is not run by MDs… it’s the same 50-50 make up… the public appoints and the members elect an equal amount of people to the governance.
@CFifeKW There are voices I love to hear… there are people I trust when they speak… @RobinMartinPC is not and has not been one of those people. @fordnation please shuffle people like this out so you can bring back confidence in a very important portfolio. #Ontario
@fordnation@PBethlenfalvy Fix healthcare… fix education… cut bureaucracy… we all appreciate money in our pockets but favour strong health and education. We don’t need thousands of bureaucrats getting annual 10%+ raises. @CTVNews#OntEd#Ontario@JeffBurch_
@ColinDMello The solution is to see what over provinces are doing… and create a solution that takes the best practices. Step 1… listen to the providers… we really do know where to adjust spending to maximize outcomes and control costs. Step 2… don’t listen to unions or politicians.
@TorontoTeacherX Wow… money does grow on trees… my suggestion would be look at the budget and see how the system can reduce waste… any reductions go towards salaries and improvements on infrastructure. I would suggest that 1 unified school system would be a starting point.
@sheri_ainslie@StCatStandard@ONOptometrists Also… if 74% of kids are failing the screening… wouldn’t mandatory eye health examination including binocular vision be a more effective use of resources in an optometric office which is already funded by @ONgov? Maybe once every other year to catch kids as they develop?
@sheri_ainslie@StCatStandard Thanks Sheri for a well written article… COVD certified optometrists aren’t necessarily the only optometrists asking those questions… but they do provide therapy options. Programs like Eye See Eye Learn by @ONOptometrists encourage parents to start the journey in JK/SK.
@mlpaoceo@MLPAOnews@fordnation I’d love to see the actual new registrations vs lapsed registrations… is it really masses or is there just a desire to leave.
