Incredible news. Zooey Zephyr, my fiancée, was re-elected to the Montana House of Representatives, getting 83% of the vote.
Many of you will remember her for standing up for trans people in Montana, and then getting censured and kicked off the House floor.
I'm so proud of her.

hello @wesstreeting : honestly, the best thing to do is ensure that the UK National Screening Committee are doing the best job in critically appraising up to date evidence and making fair recommendations;
This will be a really interesting discussion but I'm not sure about the career vs climate action framing, I think it's a bit more nuanced than that (and I'm sure the discussion will be)...
Our next event is on Monday, when we'll be joined by a panel of experts to discuss the question "Is attending conferences in real life worth the carbon footprint?"
Join us online at 7.30pm on Monday 4th November

A rocketing bus fare rise hits young people, families and all those who can't afford a car. It entrenches years of unequal burdens, is the opposite of a progressive transport pricing policy, and means less for better travel across the country. Incredibly poor. #Budget2024
But signs of progress!! Growing renewable energy (unevenly distributed) - 10.5% of global energies are renewable. Creation of jobs in clean energy industry, exceeding jobs in extractive industries.
Listening live to todays key event... launch of #LancetClimate24 report. This comprehensively tracks progress on climate and health. Headline - it's pretty scary - most indicators continue to get worse... BUT so much we can do
Here's a thread of key findings per @MarinaRomanello

Fossil fuel companies have huge role to play... 114 of the biggest companies have EXPANDED production plans and on track to exceed Paris Agreement compatible levels by 189%. These assets will be lost, because we will transition. Need to redirect funds to healthier future...
But the action of governments and companies continue to put all of our health at risk...
Energy sector emissions grow year on year, and continue to be carbon-reliant. Huge impact of this on health (2.4 billion people rely on dirty fuels for energy needs, and 30% rely on biomass)
