I’ve long been concerned by the number of children who die in England who were known to social services.
Children once known to social care whose cases were closed were 6x more likely than others to die due to abuse, neglect or deliberate injuries.

Depriving a child of their liberty should be the last resort. My report today reveals the extent of challenges children under a deprivation of liberty order have told me they face - too many are voiceless, without a say in decisions made about their care: https://t.co/M7uu64bs01

An estimated 400,000 children in England are seeking health services support for suspected neurodevelopmental conditions, with thousands waiting more than 2 years for first appointments. Find out more in my latest report sharing previously unpublished data https://t.co/iHmFqi4nXg
New @NuffieldFound report: 20 years of data show for-profit providers in adult & children's social care have grown despite underperforming public/third sector.

Street clutter on pavements makes the journey to school more challenging for visually impaired student Hester and her @GuideDogs Pickle. She wants councils and town planners to listen to mobility teams, so pavements are more accessible for all pedestrians. #100Voices

There’s been a stark rise in vulnerable children in England being held under restrictive court orders. Young people talk of being detained, brutally restrained & supervised 24/7. Their stories are defo worth a listen. Listen to our BBC Sounds doc here: https://t.co/iuDxVHQCAr
Listening to @dualipa and thinking back sadly to last weekend. For next year's Eurovision can she be quietly promised a damehood or a special deal with HMRC?
Remember "Becky", the suicidal 12-year-old in my @tortoise podcast, 'Children Locked Away: Britain's modern bedlam'? She's now 14, and last Thursday was taken from a locked hospital room to an unregulated placement. Within 24 hours, it had all broken down https://t.co/GwTRfp6KtK
@ChildrensComm The report found that this group of children do not have access to the same resources or opportunities as in mainstream schools. Another great example of @ChildrensComm shining light on a Cinderella group of children.
