The legendary Yale economist ran a hedge fund on the side, built a theory finance ignored for a decade, then watched the 2008 crash wipe out 57% of the S&P exactly the way his math predicted.

that's the proof he built everything else on. markets don't need someone in charge to find the right price, they find it themselves, chaotically, in under two minutes, just from people acting in their own interest. and once he had that proved with tickets in a lecture hall.
