There is no way to divorce this attack from the loathing and oppression of minorities of all kinds – Muslim, trans, Jewish, disabled – that is spreading like wildfire in our society.
@CanazUK@afneil I use the latest models daily for software engineering. They are... less good than the people selling the models would like you to think, to put it mildly.
@DanNeidle I object to the suggestion that option 1 is unfair. Why would it be unfair for civil servants to be taxed into oblivion like other high earners? I agree option 2 would be outrageously unfair, but wouldn't be entirely surprised if Labour do it any way
@sharrond62 Your mistake is in assuming that @bphillipsonMP gives a shit about other people. Her agenda is 100% focused on making her feel good about herself.
Aside from vibes and the fact that he is ‘like them’, it is very difficult to see where those who laud Starmer as decent, competent, and having integrity have got the idea from https://t.co/D7wbfpXwtd
@shanusmcanus1@RichardDawkins Humans draw on rather more than a statistical language model when conversing, which is why talking with humans is generally more interesting than LLMs. We learn and use language in fundamentally different ways. An LLM produces statistically plausible output to a prompt, no more.
@shanusmcanus1@RichardDawkins When you interact with an LLM, it's just guessing a likely word each time, with a deliberate injection of randomness to avoid boring, repetitive output. This is not how humans converse.
@shanusmcanus1@RichardDawkins No, this really isn't how humans think. We have a wide range of cognitive abilities, planning, emotional intelligence, reasoning, etc. All of these things exist without language.
