Today I learned a few interesting Postgres features

LISTEN/NOTIFY helps stop constant worker polling. Instead of workers repeatedly asking "any jobs?", they can sleep until a NOTIFY arrives and wakes them up.

UNLOGGED TABLES are lightweight tables that skip WAL logging.
