Would you let AI play your fav video game while you just stare at the screen? No! You play because you get joy, because it challenges you, because you love it.
Same applies to AI + Enginnering. What an amazing take by @hnasr. Watch this, folks!!
And yes, do not let AI rob you of the journey.
I have some clarity now. Because our data is mostly structured, rather than focusing on text embeddings we’ll move towards postgis+pgvectors
Will share more details after I start coding
Been working around metadata based retrieval for RAG recently. Searching vectors is straightforward, but it gets tricky when you have deterministic constraints. That too a lot. This is when i came across Self Query Retrievers today. Didn't know LLM space has already been doing it themselves

I explained all of this to my Principal engg and he was like you're going too far. Try refining your vector embedding/querying and achieve this.
Will have to study more now 😮💨

So the fix was to manually install aws-cli via python because the official aws installation shipped a binary not compatible with musl
The good news is that it survived the run today and I didn’t have to work on a Sunday 🥹
been seeing all these memes around not pushing to prod on friday. I thought i'd give it a try. Turns out some version of the image changed in the underlying self hosted git.
have to patch the pipelines now 💀

@git_cuber I always used Chrome because it just worked. Lately I've been bothered with anything being searched on chrome appears on the ads around. That's when i made the switch to brave.
Plus seeing no ads on hotstar is a huge win for me
I used to think MCP tools were just methods that you had to call.
Recently working with LangGraph changed that for me. A tool isn't a function, its an option. The model can choose to use it or not.
Nothing huge but it brought a lot of clarity.
