Leaving Twitter 👋 After over 14-years it’s time - it’s just annoying and futile these days. Cancelled my subscription and going invisible like all my connections seem to have already. #LeavingTwitter (or whatever it’s called). Find me on Instagram if you want to stay connected.
@telstra when I get back to Australia we are done! You have lost one of your most loyal and vocal customers - who used to say you were the network to be with overseas. Not any more!
Some shots from Tartu, Estonia 🇪🇪 (Canon R6m2 - 24-70 f2.4) Estonia’s second largest city has its own Old Town. #tartu2024 Now on the hunt for lunch and some Estonian wine 🍷
After bringing 3-bags 16,000km over 34-hours it’s nice to not be carrying anything - and sitting down to a Pizza and Glass of Chianti 🍷 in Old Town, Tallinn 🇪🇪 No offence to airline food … other than to say the offensiveness was in the other direction!
Great to be back in @tallinnofficial even if the weather is a bit overcast. The old city has such a great feeling and it’s nice visiting in the warmer weather (even though the snow was great too). #Tallinn 🇪🇪
Today’s wine 🍷 - an Helsinki to Tallinn ferry ⛴️ 2021 Campo Pietra Appassimento - that I can only fairly rate a 3.1 ⭐️ I was feeling guilty tasting at 10.30am, but (a) my body clock says 5.30pm, and (b) my Finnish 🇫🇮 and Estonian 🇪🇪 shipmates have no morning drinking foibles!
Thirty-hours since leaving Sydney and I’ve made it to Helsinki Port 🇫🇮 only the last few hours left for the ferry/ship ⛴️ to Tallinn 🇪🇪 - will be glad to have a soak, change and a nice dinner. The port seems quite busy this morning.
Today’s travel ✈️ day started with Eggs Benedict in Sydney 🇦🇺 … now practicing my wine tasting with some Joseph Perrier 🥂 in Tokyo 🇯🇵 (5hr layover) and ahead a 14-hour leg to Helsinki. 🇫🇮 💤
A great evening of Cheese 🧀 Tasting with Ellie and Sam (the Studd Siblings) both members of the International Guilde Des Fromagers and great hosts at the Ace Hotel in Sydney.
Hooray! 🏠 Plans have been accepted and development can proceed (eventually). Congratulations 👏 Jodie it’s been a long road but your vision will be rewarded and Balmain will get an 1888 gem restored to glory!
Tonight’s 🍷 wine - A Massolino 2020 Nebbiolo. Scoring a 4.7 ⭐️ from me, this is one of the most enjoyable since I started these tasting notes. Not just because it’s celebrating a year since we were in Italy 🇮🇹 and some other good news today! Delicious! 🤤 🍷
Today’s 🍷 tasting - a Fasoli Gino 2016 Valpolicella from NE Italy 🇮🇹 Very enjoyable mid-weight with a great combination of red fruit, violets and loads of aged umami. Giving it at solid 4.0 ⭐️ 🍷
A year (and a day) ago, it was me waiting for the boat to arrive! 😂 Today I’m turning up by water for Father’s Day lunch at Fenwick- where we were married 366-days-ago! 🍷 ☀️ ⛴️ 💕
1,623 days ago (25 March 2019) we met at Alberto’s Lounge - now, at the exact same table, with an Italian wine 🍷 it’s our 365-day wedding anniversary. So much has happened but it all seems a blink of an eye! 💕
Xanthe - sold out before the Stella Downer Emergent Artist show even opened. Becoming a regular thing! Congratulations on still more wonderful pieces! 🎨
One year ago today! Happy 1st Anniversary my love! Thanks to everyone there last year, and to everyone who has supported us before, during and into the future. We love you too! ❤️
Today’s wine 🍷 tasting. A Swinging Gate 2022 Amarone Style from our recent visit to the Tamar Valley in Tasmania. Although not a true Italian Amarone- this is a delicious powerhouse that I just have to rate 4.7 ⭐️ - so much flavour range and intensity. Delicious!
