@OldLondonW14 Do you know of any photos of the old Wimpy in Wembley, near what is now the Fountain Studios? That's where my mother and late father met, when he worked for LWT there, around 1970.
🌸 Hi, I'm Ash and I'm so lucky to be a video game writer. I've talked to lots of people looking to get into this career and SO many of them talk about how gatekeep-y finding information is. Here are all the FREE resources I personally use(d) to help me get into games writing:
@danielibf93@pie1883 Yes, it was really common: my dad was working in TV then and took part in lots of ‘as live’ recordings. Video tape was really hard to edit until a lot later.
@VictorianLondon The reason I ask is that I know some cats don’t like having their water next to their food. Our old cat wouldn’t touch it there, but loved a glass in the bedroom. Some holdover of not drinking from water sources contaminated with rotten food. The location, not the glass 😁
Today, I had to write 20 pieces of lore for another studio’s game. As usual I woke up internally screaming that I’d never be able to do it and procrastinating by making more tea than one human should drink in one morning. 1/?
Disabled writers are seriously under-represented in the UK creative industries + in broadcasting alone make up only 5.4% of contributions
To reduce access barriers for freelance #writers, we today launch a Writers’ Access Rider

Remember if you are doing some paid work for a company for some consultancy or a talk etc there will be time taken for initial discussions, then providing information, then signing (and maybe even modifying) contracts, and you should factor all that in, not just the work!!
