Our largest launch contract yet: 20x new HASTE launches for @DeptofWar to accelerate hypersonics for America.
We're delivering reliable, modern hypersonic capabilities to the nation with speed and affordability - and the first mission in this block of launches is just months away🚀
$Rklb the 29.9% space power monopoly. ☀️🚀
according to the latest december 2025 market insights, rocket lab (via solaero) now controls 29.9% of the global space-grade solar cell market.
this is the "solar tax" logic you need to understand. 🧵
to put that in perspective, boeing’s spectrolab sits at 18%, and azur space is at 15.4%.
this isn't a competitive market; it's a consolidation around a single winner.
why they win: the "weight is money" logic
$rklb’s imm (inverted metamorphic) technology is the weapon.
these cells hit 33.3% efficiency while being 42% lighter than traditional multi-junction cells.
on a satellite, 42% less weight means you can pack more sensors, more fuel, or more ammo.
if you are building a $1 billion national security satellite, you don't save pennies on cells; you buy the rklb "weight advantage."
the chips act moat
the u.s. government has officially declared $rklb a critical national security bottleneck.
under the chips act, they were awarded $23.9 million to expand their facility in albuquerque.
the goal: nearly double production capacity from 20,000 to 35,000 wafers per month.
they are one of only two domestic players capable of meeting u.s. space defense demands at this scale.
the $175b "golden dome" & sda tax
let's talk about the math of the $175 billion golden dome (missile defense shield) and the $3.5 billion sda tranche 3 contracts.
solar arrays typically account for 5-10% of total satellite contract value.
for sda tranche 3 alone, $rklb won an $816 million prime contract to build 18 satellites.
but because they are the merchant supplier for the other winners (lockheed, northrop, l3harris), they likely capture another $200m-$300m in component sales from their "competitors."
the recurring gold mine
unlike rockets, which are a "one-and-done" service, the space systems segment (which includes these solar cells) now accounts for nearly 70% of rklb’s revenue.
they are building the "national grid" for orbit.
while everyone waits for the next rocket launch, $rklb is quietly collecting a check on almost every major constellation being deployed by the west.
the verdict
bookmark this. 📌 $rklb is no longer a launch company; it is an infrastructure monopoly.
they own the power, the software (max), and the bus.
the "launch" is simply the delivery mechanism for their own higher-margin tech.
my question for you😊:
if rocket lab owns 30% of the energy supply for the entire space industry and is the only player with a vertically integrated "chips act" moat.
why are we still pricing them like a rocket company and not the next-generation lockheed martin?
let's talk in the comments. 👇

All four of Aerospace's DiskSats have successfully deployed and established contact 🎉 Congratulations to the Aerospace team, @RocketLab, @USSpaceForce, and @NASA on a successful launch!
Check out the payload's integration journey below. We're looking forward to the rest of the demonstration mission 🛰️
JUST IN: $RKLB has secured a contract worth up to $805M to deliver 18 satellites for the SDA Tracking Layer Tranche 3 program. 🔥
If fully awarded, this would be the largest contract in the company’s history.
Huge congratulations @rookisaacman, exciting times ahead with you at the helm of NASA. Looking forward to working together to advance more opportunities for science and beyond!
