Price Transparency 3.0 is here!
Today, @HHSGov, @CMSGov , @USTreasury, and @USDOL finalized major updates to the Transparency in Coverage rules. This is an important step toward making healthcare pricing data more reliable and actionable.
The Trek Health team was honored to be invited by Secretary Kennedy for the unveiling. We’re proud to bring the perspective of the 150+ health systems we serve, who put this data to work every day.
Three major takeaways:
•Less noise, more usable data. Requirements to remove “ghost rates” are expected to reduce in-network rate file sizes by roughly 70%. New utilization files will also show which providers were actually reimbursed for which services.
•A clearer path for drug pricing transparency. Prescription-drug file schema development begins in November 2026, with finalization expected around May 2027 and publication beginning in December 2027.
•Stronger accountability. New attestations and named senior officials responsible for data accuracy will put greater responsibility behind published pricing information.
For the health systems we work with, publishing more data isn’t the goal. Making that data trustworthy and useful is.
That’s what we’re building at Trek Health: turning price transparency into better-informed negotiations, stronger payer contracts, and clearer financial decisions. Excited for what this next chapter makes possible.

2 - Born in 🇺🇸. Heard "get out of my country" 100+ times. Never from my government—until now!
3 - Per a federal court: non-domiciled drivers are ~5% of CDL holders, ~0.2% of fatal crashes.
Just learned my 2021 policy work led to a new HCPCS code launching with CMS in 2025.
Keep pushing—things take a while 🪨
S/o to @MikeRadocchia for teaching me how health policy works and being an awesome boss during that time.

Harsh customer feedback can feel worse than a punch in the face.
All you can do is maximize # of Iterations / Time. Lean into the feedback, but let founder intuition lead the way.
This is the game, this is the path.
Be extremely weary of the “professional fakers.” They often genuinely think their approach is the way to build and grow things.
Not mentioned here, but fwiw I also hate the concept of “design partners.” Enter the market and let users decide by paying $.
Nothing beats the process of building a company.
Solve problems, capture small % of value you create, and change the world.
Let customers lead the way.
