My talented wife painted this portrait of our son @jordanravimusic to celebrate him releasing his new single “February 14th”. Enjoy the time lapse and the song…
@dhh We are just about to roll out a completely new interface for our SaaS in a month. What is the average time for either of the above types of sentiments to settle into "Imma just going to go head down and get some work done..." phase?
@jasonfried TBH, WordPerfect needed a manual AND a university course to master - F7 to exit only rivals vim's :wq in terms of absurd UX.
But that IBM keyboard was the best keyboard I have ever used. Period.
We take remote working to the limits here at our startup. My co-founder has been testing new interface changes and design choices this past week.... from Everest Basecamp! ⛰️
@scottastevenson 10 years in here, and I am loving waking up every day and jumping on my Mac to see what the team has been up to. Thankfully, I am also down to working only 4 or 5 hours per day now and plenty of time for my other hobbies now that the grind stage is behind me.
AI has been great for productivity in terms of coding, but what has really lifted the game for our company is hiring a dedicated Product Manager... And she has her own blog talking about design too!

Whether you are a kid returning from uni/college, or a long time traveller/migrant going back to your point of origin, there is no "going home" any more. At least not the "home" you remembered.
Key reason why the "Make 'x' great again" movements will never work.
In this age of AI slop videos, @YouTube really needs to bring back the downvote counter. I am now relying on the top 3 comments to see whether a video is worth watching or not...
Noticed Claude Code was 'Bunning' today, and at first I thought it was going to our local hardware chain for a good old traditional sausage sandwich, but then I looked up what the slang term for 'Bunning' is... 😳
I am having a hard enough time getting AI to stay focused just upgrading the front end of my large(ish) SaaS.
I don't think AI could ever code it all from scratch, ever.
And multiple agents? That is as controllable as unleashing a bunch of kids in an ice cream shop!
Talking to smarter folks than me, I'm convinced many of the AI folks in my timeline are full of shit.
Nobody is "running 20 agents over night" and building stuff for actual users. Maybe some are building internal tools or disposable software. Maybe.
But building software people like using? That doesn't get hacked on day one or blow up after the 3rd user? Nope.
I don't even understand what that's supposed to look like. Do you work out a 57 pages document that perfectly describes what you want to build and then summon 14 agents and have them run wild for 6 hours? And what comes out on the other end isn't a broken pile of shit?
Nope. Not buying it.
PS: it may also be that I have an IQ of 82 and can't figure it out.
Devan's AI Law: Every Youtube video you see promoting @openclaw in some way is just a thin veneer for a blatant @Hostinger affiliate promotion... https://t.co/YlsqXbCXxM
We have indeed come full circle...
I remember when "it's compiling and/or linking" was a great excuse to goof off and do something different for quite a while.
Then Borland brought out the Turbo compilers and you didn't have time to sneeze!
When I was a kid, I would wait impatiently several minutes for my code to compile.
Now as an adult, I impatiently wait several minutes for Claude Code to write the thing, then it compiles rather quickly.
Same problem, 30 years apart.
Founders with small dev teams: What is a good metric/KPI to ensure consistent performance?
I feel the "no. of commits" is no better than LOC, so what is the best indicator of productivity (or more importantly, slow decline thereof)?
@ICT_GURU Used to know a lady at IBM who used to fix these. They weigh as much as a fridge each. She was 4 foot nothing, but used to carry one under each arm up 6 flights of stairs to her workshop! 💪🏽
It would seem that my daily Claude Code CLI token usage has dropped by around 75% after implementing the claude-mem plugin?!? No degradation in skills or extra hallucinating or going down rabbit holes either...
