No car. No holidays. Every meal cooked at home. Shops in Lidl. Already cut back on everything there was to cut back on.

That leaves around £500 for food, phone, clothes, getting to work and anything that goes wrong.

"Budget better" gets said to people in that position constantly. What exactly is left to budget?
