El líder de la oposición y senador, Iván Cepeda Castro, regresó a la capital de Boyacá para agradecer el masivo respaldo al proyecto político del Pacto Histórico y la Alianza por la Vida, expresar su apoyo al candidato a la Alcaldía de Tunja, Nicolás Cortés, y reconocer la labor del presidente Gustavo Petro.

Cepeda dijo: “Al concluir mandato presidencial, despedimos a un jefe de Estado, pero no al máximo líder del progresismo en Colombia, quien tendrá, para fortuna de nuestra sociedad, muchos años más al servicio de nuestro pueblo.

Por todas estas razones, hoy propongo que Gustavo Petro asuma la presidencia del Pacto Histórico como nuevo partido político”.
