Lately, I've been finding a lot of people very enthusiastic about Ranked Choice Voting, without realizing there are even better methods available too.
So I made this table:

@zkMACI May also be the first US election w/ part of its administrative data committed to a public blockchain—
Before the vote, we merkle-tree'd the Voter Roll (https://t.co/Q5pGH22kkL), to help with efficient audits, and posted a commitment to the BTC chain using @opentimestamps
SIV also made available their anti-coercion tools for voters in this election, which was designed alongside the MACI team earlier in the year.

As far as I know, the election we just ran is the first time an American elected office has been decided in a majority-digital vote, open to all registered voters, despite party affiliation.

In this session, we'll explore what it actually takes to run secure elections online — and why it’s different from voting on a blockchain.
David from the SIV team will walk us through:
- Real-world election requirements
- How the SIV protocol works
- Case studies (yes, a U.S. Congress member was elected via SIV)
Lessons from 2024 U.S. presidential election usage
This is a rare chance to understand how cryptographic protocols meet practical voting challenges — from ballot secrecy to auditability to usability at scale.
