@neheritagelib I'd love to see the whole network done in this style, including all the lines in your other tweet. But, I think it would be better if the Northumberland line was closer to the red line I added here. It would mirror the Y/G slope, and align with the Morpeth line.
@lf_p@ALSP8@N_landCouncil@arrivanortheast@KiMcGuinness @NorthEast_CA There has always been something that has bothered me about using the metro squares like they currently do. I think it is the plural buses and only metro being black. The red/white/black of buses looks so stark on the bus time table too. Perhaps something like this instead
@MultiModalGeoff@Citymapper Does anywhere have the Northumberland line? I see the stations marked, but can't get the line to show up like the yellow/green line.
@NlandCoastLoop@lf_p the original red line terminated at benton but that would make as much sense as NLand Park. Another option would be to turn off NLand Park and go to Howdon/Percy Main via a new Cobolt line. But that means new tracks.
@lf_p The other line I was thinking was the rumoured line from the Airport to the northern yellow line with no change at South Gosforth. That would be so nice for not having to carry luggage over that bridge! No idea where it would terminate though.
@lf_p I was wondering how maps would handle the Metrocentre. I guess a dashed line to show infrequent like on some of the Northern maps. I guess the diverging lines would end up being like the old Metro maps where we had the red and blue lines. May start to run out of colours though
@shanselman Central heating (had hot water bottle to stay warm)
a telephone (didn't have one of any type)
a colour tv (B&W licence was cheaper)
a car (still don't know how to drive to this day as no one in family ever did)
ability to see grandparents (train ride away)
@allenjs@Matthewsblog I mean, we literally had soldiers stationed outside my window for 10 days. None stop flash bangs. tear gas we couldn't escape as they told people to disperse but we live in building so no where to go. Snipers trained on us from next roof top. And that is just the pre-chop part
I guess I should update my profile at some point to say I live in the #chop. Never had so little sleep. What from being tear gassed night after night in own apartment, to gun shots (and homicide), early morning fireworks, constant presence of guns. PTSD is real.
@girlie_mac I'm so sorry. You're one of the smartest people I've met, and were in the mobile game well before the "iPhone" crowd got it. Incredibly inspiring. Using someone's accent to make fun (especially when they probably only know English) is just so ignorant.
Feels like the movement here has been coopted by white people wanting to party, & black voices drowned out. One of the most powerful voices I've heard is from Robbie Earle (ex-footballer, presenter on NBC) on living in US & white lives matter https://t.co/vvuyNbvrqf
"If we stand together in the fight, we've got a chance."
Rebecca Lowe, Robbie Earle and Kyle Martino have an emotional, open and deeply personal discussion about race in society.
