This bullshit project from Herts County Council isn’t about connectivity: it’s about cost cutting. This crap needs to be challenged. “Trackless trams” are not trams: they’re BUSES. Bouncing bendy buses stuck halfway in traffic; and take away tracks & you take away fixed links.

@lf_p @Guard_Ean @HighSpeed_H @hopperelecspam There were screens on some of the initial mockups. Can't give any specific source but I'm sure I'd heard the reasoning that they were worried about passengers seeing people jump in front of the trains (no idea why that wasn't a problem with the 599s)

Mayor Tracy Brabin has visited Wrightbus to see new Weaver Network electric buses being built for West Yorkshire. Almost 200 buses will enter service from spring 2027 as part of the region’s move to franchised bus services, bringing services under public control.
