New information about Mariam and her family:
Mariam was born in February 2024. She came into this world without a father. Her father, Ahmad Mahmoud Ghanem, was slaughtered in an Israeli strike in November 2023, three months before she was born.
Now Mariam has lost her mother, too. Her mother, Reem Awad, was burned alive before her little daughter’s eyes in an Israeli strike.
Mariam survived, but she is suffering from third-degree burns.
Reem and Ahmad had waited four years to conceive Mariam. Four years of waiting and hoping to bring a child into this world.
Ahmad never lived to see his daughter’s face. Reem lived long enough to watch her little girl grow for two and a half years before she was burned alive in front of her.
Now Mariam is an orphan, fighting to survive her horrific burns.
I was able to confirm these heartbreaking details through at least two friends of Reem.
If the UK media wasn't entirely captured by the billionaire class – serving as its PR division – then we might know more about the role of the United States in meddling in UK politics.
The recent claims of a supposed “terrorist plot” outside RAF Fairford – really a US airforce base pretending to be a British base and one from which the US has waged an illegal war of aggression against Iran – should have reminded us that the Pentagon is largely in charge of UK foreign policy.
The US has some 15 major military bases on British soil, plus half a dozen smaller intelligence sites. As the rightwing US podcaster Tucker Carlson recently observed, the fact that Britain has foreign troops crawling all over it makes us little more than an occupied “vassal state”.
The US recently announced a $4 billion upgrade of its UK bases, including establishing storage sites for its nuclear arsenal. The plan caused barely a ripple of interest among British politicians or the media .
Although our political and media class pretend the UK is an equal partner in a western defence alliance, the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, the reality is very different. Nato takes its orders from the US, doing Washington’s bidding. That’s why Nato has been pivoting towards America’s biggest economic rival, China, which is, of course, nowhere near the North Atlantic.
When the US snaps its fingers, Britain stands to attention and hikes its spending on the war industries. Along with European governments, the UK is willing to drain its national coffers and scythe through public spending with yet more austerity cuts to support Washington’s military agenda for “full-spectrum global dominance”.
Much of the US influence on British politics is carefully concealed from view, operating behind closed doors.
In the early 2010s, the US was desperately seeking a pretext to extradite Julian Assange from the UK and lock him up in a super-max jail, hiding him out of sight after his organisation Wikileaks revealed US and British war crimes in Afghanistan and Iraq. It was during this period that Starmer, as the director of public prosecutions, repeatedly jetted off to Washington for secret meetings with US officials.
We will never know what was discussed. Freedom of information requests discovered that his own officials destroyed all records of those meetings.
Once he became a politician, Starmer was recruited to the shadowy Trilateral Commission, originally founded in the 1970s by officials in Jimmy Carter’s administration to deal with the supposed problem of “an excess of democracy” in the US. The commission’s view was that voters were becoming dangerously less passive, at that time over the Vietnam war, and ways needed to be found to return them to docility.
A similar British-American Project cements ties between rising stars in British politics, business and journalism and Washington elites. The power imbalance between the two sides ensures up-and-coming British leaders are readily groomed into an Atlanticist worldview in which the UK is very much the junior partner.
There are a plethora of other “respected’ think-tanks and organisations whose chief role is to embed US policy ideas, especially those relating to foreign policy, in the thinking of British elites. They include the Bilderberg Group, Chatham House, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Atlantic Council, The British-American Parliamentary Group, and BritishAmerican Business.
The US uses its financial muscle through these organisations and many others to manufacture consent for its extreme neoliberal and neoconservative ideologies. The latest example are massive grants to organisations willing to export Trump’s MAGA ideology to the UK, masquerading as a “public education” initiative.
There is plenty of evidence to show that it was pressure from the Trump administration that led to the unprecedented decision by Starmer’s government to proscribe a civil disobedience group, Palestine Action, for the first time in Britain’s history as a terrorist organisation.
Palestine Action had incensed Israel by targeting its weapons factories on UK soil, highlighting another aspect of British collusion in the Gaza genocide, and had infuriated Trump personally by spraying one of his golf courses in Scotland with the words “Gaza is not 4 sale”.
In truth, the ways that the US meddles directly in British politics are so numerous it is virtually impossible to quantify them. Britain is little more than a colony of the US, receiving diktats on important foreign policy issues – especially regarding US and Israeli interests – that the UK is invariably too frightened to oppose.
Burnham is already rolling over to reverse the UK’s decision to honour a ruling from the International Court of Justice and other international tribunals that Britain has no claim to sovereignty over the Chagos Islands and must return them to Mauritius. The UK has faced a temper tantrum from Trump on the matter because the US operates an illegal military base on one of the islands.
Disobedience by the UK is the exception, not the rule. Which makes Burnham’s exclusive focus on Russian influence almost laughably beside the point. This furious finger-pointing at the Kremlin is designed with one purpose in mind only: to distract the British public from where the real external meddling in our politics is coming from.

Israeli prison guards are firing rubber bullets at close range into cells, yards, and even lawyer waiting rooms, severely injuring Palestinian prisoners, Haaretz reports.
In one case at Ktziot prison, a prisoner's testicle was "completely mutilated" and surgically removed, after he said guards kicked him in the testicles during a search and a rubber bullet fired through his cell door later hit the same testicle. "I looked like a butchered animal," he said.
Another prisoner needed surgery for a fractured tibia. Physicians for Human Rights and the Public Committee Against Torture documented 21 cases and warn of an "unprecedented escalation," with shooting becoming "another routine way to apply violence in prisons." The Israel Prison Service dismissed the findings as "a worldwide smear campaign."
Guess which foreign power gave Labour MPs these sums:
Andy Burnham £393,346
Lisa Nandy £184,219
Rachel Reeves £348,652
John Healey £39,216
Shabana Mahmood £137,168
Wes Streeting £459,182
Yvette Cooper £144,650
Angela Rayner £86,800
Chris Bryant £130,940
Israeli spyware sat inside 45 of Al Jazeera's computers. Nobody had to click. It got in through ads for phones and earbuds, in the same years Israel was killing the network's journalists in Gaza.
I worked there for a decade. I wrote about it: https://t.co/gAyxBJW2yP
🇬🇧 “You’re a prime minister who arms a genocide and locks pensioners up for opposing it.”
Green Party leader Zack Polanski accused Prime Minister Andy Burnham of conflating criticism of Israel with antisemitism after Burnham ruled out any partnership with the Greens over their “Zionism is racism” motion at Wednesday’s PMQs.
“I’m the only Jewish leader of a political party. I’m a victim of antisemitism every day,” Polanski wrote on X.
The motion, passed 1,022 to 813 at the Greens’ conference this month, defines Zionism as a political ideology that privileges Jewish statehood over Palestinian rights. Burnham condemned it as “wrong” and “antisemitic.”
Polanski called the conflation of criticism of Israel with antisemitism “dangerous and irresponsible,” arguing that Burnham’s July apology over Labour’s response to Gaza was “all performative.”
“Andy Burnham still stands with Israel whilst it kills innocent people,” he added.
The cynicism of the Labour Party knows no bounds. They'll draw a "red line" at a motion calling Zionism racism but not at genocide.
This is plainly designed to drive a wedge in the Greens. Force some councillors to peel off and create division - effectively using and abusing antisemitism (a profound and important issue) for short- term political goals.
We know it's not about any principled stance about antisemitism because Philipson's clique has shown zero concern for the very many Jewish people, mostly anti-Zionist, who were investigated and effectively harassed by the Labour Party for their views on Israel.
We also know it's rubbish because Labour has encouraged Councils to adopt the IHRA Definition of Antisemitism, which effectively makes expressing anti-Zionist beliefs an antisemitic offence, despite 12% of all British Jews declaring themselves anti-Zionist.
But it is very on-brand for Phillipson, one of the collaborators in the Labour Together project that so irresponsibly, cynically and covertly used the very real and important issue of antisemitism for factional advantage. This is the essence of the McSweeney-ite method that did so much damage to the Labour Party, but also massively inflamed inter-community tensions in the UK.
For ordinary people, the message will be: sorry, you can't effective, progressive and collaborative local government (good housing, clean streets, community centres, functional schools) because we draw a "red line" at calling Israel racist three years into a live-streamed genocide.
The Greens should respond appropriately, calling out the Labour Party for using this issue as a political football, holding local government to ransom because they simply refuse to accept that they lost power five months ago. Call out the Labour Party for sabotaging good governance and coalition politics because they're sore losers - in the name of Zionism.
Proper gutter politics, a crass rerun of Labour under Starmer. Burnham should be better than this; and should know that all this leads to is lots of left-wing people being unable to trust the Labour Party again.
👇This remarkable Reuters investigation published today reveals the extraordinary damage inflicted by Iran's precision strikes on critical Persian Gulf infrastructure, how regional governments have concealed its true extent, and lends strong credence to longstanding reports that the UAE effectively paid Iran to ward off further attacks.
On the last point, Reuters reports that Abu Dhabi agreed to unlock at least $10 billion in frozen Iranian funds, with $3 billion reportedly released, in exchange for Tehran halting attacks on Emirati infrastructure.
The UAE denies any such deal, but notably, no further strikes on UAE infrastructure have been reported since May 17.
Other major findings:
• Scale and precision: Reuters documents at least 135 attacks on 84 infrastructure sites across seven Persian Gulf Arab countries, often striking indispensable components whose destruction crippled entire facilities for months or even years.
• Concealing the damage: Persian Gulf Arab governments repeatedly attributed damage to falling debris from intercepted Iranian missiles and drones.
Reuters identified at least 34 official statements making such claims. But 14 specialists who reviewed the evidence considered it “highly improbable” that debris accounted for the systematic destruction of critical equipment across so many facilities.
• Restrictions on reporting: The UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain have restricted the photographing and sharing of images from attack sites, making independent assessments difficult and obscuring the true extent of the damage.
• Sophisticated Iranian targeting intelligence: Iran repeatedly struck critical equipment concealed inside buildings or otherwise difficult to identify from satellite imagery.
Three officials told Reuters that Tehran relies on networks of informants with access to sensitive facilities, helping explain the extraordinary precision of some attacks.
The broader strategic implications are enormous. Iran has demonstrated an ability to inflict substantial economic damage across the Persian Gulf despite overwhelming US conventional military superiority.
And this is precisely why renewed all-out fighting, particularly an escalation into more extensive infrastructure warfare, carries such enormous risks.
The destruction could trigger even greater economic shocks far beyond the Middle East.

Kamala Harris: "The failure to use our leverage to curtail the Israeli government's horrific conduct in the war in Gaza - both under the current administration, which offers Netanyahu a blank check, and our administration before, where we should have acted sooner and more forcefully."
Let me translate:
"We funded the genocide. We armed the genocide. We defended the genocide. And now that it's politically convenient, we're admitting it was bad"
Where was this courage when she was Vice President-and could have done something?
VICTORY: After a four-week trial, the jury refused to convict Academic Dylan Evans.
For satirical posts in support of Palestine, Dylan faced the possibility of 14 years in prison under Section 12 of the Terrorism Act.
The prosecution sought to frame an academic’s satire as terrorism. More than a dozen officers raided his home, seizing his devices, podcast notes and every document written in Arabic. He then spent over two years on bail.
But the public is not so easily convinced.
Dylan joins a growing list of people put on trial for Palestine solidarity, and a growing list of juries who refuse to play along.
When the public is asked to treat Palestine solidarity as terrorism, they are saying no.

What did Barack Obama do for Peace..? He dropped more bombs than any US President in history before him, illegally bombed 8 different countries and taught the world how to use drones to kill people without a trial. Obama is a War Criminal but the US doesn't do accountability...

Ottawa wants its colonial lacky to hold long delayed elections but is demanding a leading Palestinian party be excluded. And its statement largely reflects Zionist pressure and the two-state charade.
On Saturday Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas postponed upcoming legislative and presidential elections for nearly a year. In response the foreign ministers of the UK, Australia, France and Canada said they “deeply regret the Palestinian President's decision to postpone the Palestinian Legislative Council elections as well as the Presidential elections to September 2027.” Despite Abbas being on the 22nd year of a four-year mandate, Ottawa has put upwards of a billion dollars into propping up his compliant and corrupt PA.
While Canada/UK/Australia/France bemoan the PA subverting democracy – as if legitimate elections can be held under occupation and genocide – they simultaneously made a mockery of their stated commitment to democracy and self-determination. The four country statement notes, “Lastly, we reiterate our longstanding position that Hamas can have no role in the future governance of Palestine.”
So, they (we) are telling a long-colonized people to hold elections, but you can’t include one of the largest parties. (While Hamas is the current boogeyman, Canada’s terrorism list criminalizes most Palestinian political life, including secular leftist parties such as the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.)
Adding to the neocolonial absurdity, Ottawa directly subverted the last Palestinian election. After Hamas won legislative elections in 2006, Canada was the first country after Israel to impose sanctions against the Palestinians. Ottawa’s aid cut-off and refusal to recognize a Palestinian unity government was designed to sow division. It helped spur fighting between Hamas and Fatah and when Hamas took control of Gaza, Israel used it to justify brutalizing Palestinians there.
In a sign of Canada’s commitment to undercutting Palestinian unity and democracy, Ottawa immediately contributed $8 million “in direct support to the new government” after Hamas officials were ousted from the unity government in June 2007. At the end of that year the Conservative government announced a five-year $300 million aid program to the Palestinians mostly for a security force to bolster Fatah against Hamas. US General Keith Dayton, in charge of organizing the 10,000-member Palestinian security force, even admitted he was strengthening Abbas’ Fatah against Hamas, telling a US audience in 2009 his force was “working against illegal Hamas activities.” Between 2007 and 2011 PA security forces arrested some 10,000 suspected Hamas supporters in the West Bank.
As I’ve written elsewhere, the broader aim of Canada’s military deployment to support Palestinian security reform was to build a force to entrench the Israeli occupation. It’s been successful. That’s why Mark Carney is unlikely to respond to Abbas postponing elections by withdrawing the just announced $20 million in new security assistance to the PA. (In 2012 when Stephan Harper’s government threatened to cut security assistance to the PA, Israel privately “implored” Ottawa not to.)
In a sign of the anti-Palestinian character of the official discussion in Canada, hardline Zionists are up in arms about Abbas postponing elections. They are complaining that the PA has failed to fulfill the absurd conditions Mark Carney placed on Canada’s recognition of Palestine to placate Zionists. Carney predicated recognition of Palestine on elections without Hamas (as well as a “demilitarized” state, which Carney has repeatedly labelled a “Zionist Palestinian state”).
Now that Abbas has once again postponed elections pro-genocide forces are criticizing Carney and seeking to revoke Canada’s recognition of Palestine. Leaving aside that the recognition cat is out of the bag, the entire discussion is based on an outlandish, neocolonial, premise. In their statement Tuesday the four countries that recognized Palestine in short order last year reiterated that “Strengthening Palestinian governance is essential to continue building the institutional foundations of a viable two-state solution.”
But Palestinians aren’t the obstacle to their gaining sovereignty over twenty two percent of their historic lands. In a clip circulating of a recent English language election debate, representatives of all Israeli eight parties participating explicitly reject the establishment of a Palestinian state. Similarly, a Financial Times story on “What would Israel’s opposition do differently?” noted, “on one issue, the opposition has found consensus from both the left and right: there will be no Palestinian state.”
Still, Canadian officials are making demands of Palestinians as part of promoting Carney’s “Zionist Palestinian state” charade. Instead, Canada should simplify end its unique, multifaceted, support for a supremacist state committing genocide.
Dr. Peter Prinsley is a Deputy on the Board of Deputies of British Jews and was appointed the Honorourary Vice-Chair of Labour Friends of Israel in December last year.
In September 2025 he was found to be in breach of Parliamentary rules for failing to declare an all-expenses paid "solidarity trip" to Israel in May 2025 funded by Labour Friends of Israel. Along with other Labour MPs, Prinsley met with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, who was cited in the ICJ's 2024 judgement for making plausibly genocidal statements, and widely pictured signing bombs destined to be dropped on Gaza.
When Prinsley was asked what he thought voters might say about him visiting Israel by DeClassified, he said: "I really don't know that they'd be interested in it, to be quite honest." When he was asked why he went, Prinsley said: "I was asked to go. I just do what I'm told."
Prinsley was again found in breach of Parliamentary rules in June this year. Prinsley "inadvertent[ly]" failed to properly declare his interests (the LFI trip) during a Home Affairs Select Committee Inquiry into the police's decision to block Tel Aviv Maccabi fans travelling to the UK. He later admitted he may have failed to declare the trip because he was "attempting to avoid allegation of bias."
LFI does not declare its funding.
LFI has previously said that there is "no place" for antizionism in the "labour movement." Approximately 12% of all British Jews are anti-Zionist according to the Institute for Jewish Policy Research, with less than half of all British Jews between 20-29 declaring themselves Zionist.
Now, a test: if Prinsley's objections in Parliament about the Zionism-is-Racism motion is covered by the press today, or shared by journalists and commentators on here, will any of this context be given?

Netanyahu claims that there is no hunger in Gaza…
How can anyone deny the suffering of millions of people who are struggling to find food, clean water, and the most basic necessities of life?
Stop the violence, end the siege, and stop the terror and oppression inflicted upon the Palestinian people!
Our children are hungry. Our families are suffering. Innocent people are struggling to survive while the world watches.
How much more suffering must Gaza endure before the world takes meaningful action?
Do not remain silent. Speak up for Gaza, expose the truth, and share our voices with the world. We demand justice, freedom, and an end to the suffering of innocent civilians.
Humanity must not remain silent in the face of such suffering. 🇵🇸💔
