@SunnyvaleSBay it's because techies tend to overestimate their contribution to a project. similarly vfx is something like 20% of a films budget on average. cutting that in half or even a quarter is not revolutionary. though it might seem like it to a vfx guy with a mortgage
@ThePenOfQuotes it's a rational reaction when 99% of AI output is terrible. And the best artists and creators are not (yet) working with AI. It's basic probability and a sensible defensive field to reject AI as bad. It will be different in the future. But in 2026 it's reliable.
@minhsmind It seems like a big jump from 1m micro dramas to a feature. Iโd be pleasantly suprised if it holds attention for 90 mins. I havnโt seen a 15 min ai film yet that wasnโt a challenge . It seems to have a high marketing budget
@DJMaculate Hollywood is stale because it embraced CGI and only makes superhero movies. Hollywood will embrace AI as well. Smaller creators with CGI historically made tiktoks not long movies. and it's not looking much different for AI so far.
@Bencera Wouldnโt to big studios hire at least some of these new creators to work for them? And a films budget is usually 50% marketing. Is distribution being automated too? Rings a bell
@OlexGameDev This doesn't seem like a very apt comparison. It would be more interesting if you spent a couple of weeks trying to replicate it with a modest budget. 1 day is arbitrary. 2 weeks is still very dramatically shorter than 2 years, and would reveal much more
@Cristina_AC_X Taking your figure that 20% of apps are perfectly valid. In absolute terms this represents a huge number of valid AI apps being built for people's specific custom needs.
