Photograph of President Abraham Lincoln and Vice President Andrew Johnson at Lincoln’s second inauguration on March 4th, 1865. A drunken Johnson had earlier delivered one of the worst speeches in history.
Tourists slowly realizing that most of rural Japan just looks like rural America will never not make me smile.
This is from Toyooka in Hyogo Prefecture. KFC is just as much of a Japanese institution as it is an American one at this point.
JUST IN: 🇮🇳🇺🇸 Indian analysts believe it's 'great' that the U.S. is pushing to limit the H1-B route to permanent residency.
"Now our talents will stay with us, no free Sundar Picchai’s and Satya Nadella’s for you anymore."
Also I wonder how many people know about the oldest idea of the Backrooms concept appeared in an episode of the Twilight Zone called Little Girl Lost (1962).
It's like the Backrooms but condensed down to its purest form. I'd recommend checking it out.
Wondering why we're learning the truth about H1b visa holders from India all the sudden? How up to 90% of the degrees they supposedly hold are fake, including nursing, engineering and medical degrees issued by degree mills?
Ken Paxton, AG of Texas, the guy the UniParty and crooked "Republican" Senate leader John Thune just spent tens of millions trying to destroy in the Republican primary in Texas.
Why? Because the GOP's open-borders Bush-Rove wing runs on political donations in exchange for endless visas and migration, legal and illegal.
Paxton threatened that in Texas with his years-long investigations into how they give away Americans' jobs to H1b visa holders in exchange for campaign donations.
Now we're learning 90% of the degrees held by those visa holders are fake.
This is exactly why the squish GOP "leadership" in the US Senate fought so hard against Paxton and for Cornyn. This corrupt visa money is their political lifeblood, and they're dying from a thousand cuts.
Remembering Jean Harlow, who died at the age of 26 this day 6/7/1937. One of her most fabulous roles was in "Dinner At Eight''' and this ending scene stands the test of time....
This is just the tip of the iceberg. Indian H-1B fraud is a national scandal that is unprecedented in American history. The Trump administration has two options.
1) Be known as the administration who tackled it head on and stopped the biggest immigration scandal in our country's history.
2) Be known as the administration who knew it was happening but did nothing about it.
The truth will come out either way. The scandal is so radicalizing that it's never going away. It will just be more and more of a black eye for every administration who looks the other way.
Ban all immigration from india until we can figure out what the hell is going on.
General Charles de Gaulle on the beach with his little daughter, Anne (1928-1948).
Anne had Down Syndrome and was the love of the crusty General's life.
This is the best photo of De Gaulle I've ever seen.
This is a painting from 1909.
Zinaida Serebriakova’s At the Dressing-Table (Self-Portrait) is a 1909 oil-on-canvas masterpiece painted when the artist was just 25 years old. Snowed in at her family’s estate near Neskuchnoye—then part of the Russian Empire and now in Ukraine—Serebriakova found herself without access to models or travel, so she turned the brush on herself. Using her reflection in a mirror, she captured a quiet domestic scene surrounded by the everyday items on her dressing table.
What makes the painting feel so strikingly contemporary is its warmth and spontaneity. Rather than presenting a formal, distant portrait, Serebriakova smiles directly at the viewer while brushing her hair, creating an intimate, candid moment that feels surprisingly modern for 1909—almost like a snapshot taken on a smartphone a century later. Today, the painting remains one of her most beloved works and is housed in the Tretyakov Gallery.
I have cleaned-up this fabulous Autochrome of the great actress Sarah Bernhardt (1844-1923) dressed as Cleopatra - a role she made her own back in the 1890s. Here she resurrects the character for the Lumiere brothers in 1907.
The portrait was taken in colour 119 years ago and isn't colourised.
🚨 NOW: Stephen Miller demands the US SUPREME COURT intervene ASAP after Rhode Island activist Judge John McConnell UNILATERALLY BLOCKED President Trump's policies to shield America from dangerous 3rd world migrants
The JUDICIAL COUP MUST END!
MILLER: "Local judge says it’s illegal to restrict migration and that America actually belongs to 8 billion foreigners—not you or your family and that no matter who you vote for you will be dispossessed. If SCOTUS doesn’t restrain these judges the people will lose all faith in the courts."
The judge ruled: "[The blocked policy] made it harder for immigrants from dozens of countries to stay and enter the U.S."
"In a ruling harshly criticizing the administration, Judge John McConnell said the policy 'threw the lives of countless immigrants living in the United States into indeterminate legal limbo.'"
"The policies enacted after the shooting of two National Guard members last year meant that immigrants from 39 countries have been barred from receiving a federal final decisions on, among other things, their asylum and work permits green card."
IMPEACH HIM!
