What a disgrace. A gold-plated, naked Donald Trump on a starving man’s back, branded “The Orange Plague,” is on show in the European Parliament in Strasbourg under the guise of “art”. The people who lecture the world on dignity can’t even manage basic respect for the president of a friendly nation. @realDonaldTrump@WhiteHouse

I'll be happy to pay his fine for him
The judge is clearly an idiot, as he does not understand the difference between being solemn, and being serious
One can be perfectly serious while making a point with humour
And a joke like this is offensive only to someone without a sense of humour.
Pompous people abhor humour as their sense of self-importance cannot survive in a humorus atmosphere
The elites aren’t even trying anymore, no craic at all. We’ve gone from lab leaks to the plague.
You think they could’ve brought back dancing mania, or even a decent witch trial. This is just shite.
THIS IS A RESIGNING MATTER
A Garda whistleblower reported sexual abuse of a child. The child was removed from mother and given to the father who was abusing him. The Garda whistleblower was unpaid for weeks. On McEntee's watch.
The HSE's recruitment embargo is leaving healthcare graduates, including nurses, physiotherapists, and speech therapists—unable to secure public sector jobs despite massive nationwide staffing shortages. According to data released by Labour TD Marie Sherlock, just 13% of recent physiotherapy graduates surveyed found HSE roles, leaving many stranded on waiting panels or taking non-specialized jobs. This hiring freeze threatens to drive State-funded medical talent toward emigration or private practice while public waiting lists for essential pediatric and adult therapies continue to spiral. Healthcare unions like the INMO warn that aggressive international recruitment from countries like Australia and the UK will further strip Ireland of its newest frontline workers if public contracts remain frozen.

Since 2016 government spending has almost doubled.
The core overseas aid budget has increased by over 33% to €813 million, with a total Overseas Development Assistance budget of €2.35 Billion!
Meanwhile for Irish families
2016 Child Benefit = €140
2026 Child Benefit = €140
Speaking as the elderly mother of three youngsters, who hasn’t had a sex change and knows many homosexuals, it is my able-bodied and sexually-preferred opinion that the Greens are turning into total nutters.
The funny thing about McCarthyist hysteria is that people always recognise it straight away.... unless it's happening in their own country. Right under their noses.
The vicious campaign of intimidation against the Irish soccer team has been waged by the sort of people who normally want hate laws passed. So very ironic.
We Irish should be proud of Wexford novelist John Banville, who recently withdrew from a Granada literary festival that dropped Argentine writer Ariana Harwicz over her opposition to cultural boycotts on Israel. Harwicz is a highly acclaimed writer, whose first novel was adapted into the 2025 film Die My Love, starring Jennifer Lawrence and produced by Martin Scorsese.
Banville declined to comment on his withdrawal from the festival, but he doesn't need to, as he's been making the case against ideological bullying for years. He signed a 2020 Harper's letter warning against ideological conformity in cultural life. In an RTÉ interview, he stated that people should be free to disagree with a writer's views, but that suppressing their work is "very, very dangerous."
Banville's own novels show Copernicus and Kepler battling against the orthodoxies of their time. His Quirke series dissects a 1950s Ireland where "blanket censorship and official lying" were the norm. Only this month, he was writing about the censorship of Edna O'Brien's early work, including her debut novel, The Country Girls, which was denounced by the Church and banned by the state after its publication in 1960. So good for John Banville. We just need more such people willing to take a stand against censorship and suppression.

I dunno, d'yiz remember like years ago when ye were a bit wild & not only did ye think Brenda Power was a bit old fashioned but ye also thought she was a bit stuffy & then yiz grew older & realised she's one of very few journalists in Ireland with the courage of her convictions?
Brenda Power is a rare voice of moral clarity amongst the Irish commentariat on this issue. In under a minute she eviscerates Ireland’s hypocrisy.
‘There wasn’t a single peep of protest to the Irish cricket team voluntarily playing Afghanistan last month, where women are treated worse than battery chickens. It is the most extreme humanitarian crisis in the world right now, as far as I can see, the gender apartheid in Afghanistan. Not a word of protest.’
‘Where was your indignation when we played [Afghanistan]? England wouldn’t play them, South Africa wouldn’t play them, New Zealand wouldn’t play them. The great humanitarians in Ireland had absolutely no difficulty. We’re hypocrites.’
Immigration to Welfare:
Did you know the Govt passed a new Social Housing law this summer ?
“The Housing and Residential Tenancies Act 2026”
This Act sets the rules for asylum seekers’ access to social housing
To qualify for social housing you must be “lawfully resident” and “habitually resident” in Ireland.
“lawfully resident” includes:
• Refugee status
• Subsidiary protection
• Permission to remain
• Programme refugee status
• Certain qualifying family permissions
So once someone moves from being an asylum applicant, they have an immediate legal gateway to the social housing list.
Social housing is NOT for citizens only.
And To be clear:
Until this summer, the rules governing migrants’ access to social housing were largely contained in a Departmental circular from 2012.
The Govt has now written them directly into law.
This was a chance to tighten up access to social benefits.
Remember the Govt admit most are “economic migrants”
But Instead they have doubled down.
This directly affects the housing crisis.
It puts new arrivals in direct competition with with disability campaigners & others for housing resources.
Why are they doing this?
MŁODZI TO PATOLOGIA.
2. Nie panują nad własnymi emocjami. Wszystko jest „toksyczne”, „traumatyczne”, „problematyczne” albo „triggerujące”. Krytyka staje się atakiem. Dyskomfort staje się cierpieniem. Niepowodzenie staje się traumą. Zamiast nauczyć człowieka radzić sobie z rzeczywistością, nauczono go tworzyć coraz bardziej wyrafinowane słownictwo do opisywania tego, dlaczego rzeczywistość powinna dostosować się do niego.
