@letterboxd Your anniversary is a fun excuse to check some stats:
First log: Jackie Brown (4/16/13)
First first-time log: Girl w/t Dragon Tattoo (Fincher, 4/22/13)
First theatrical log: Iron Man 3 (5/11/13)
First 5-star log: Jackie Brown (4/16/13)
First 1-star log: Lone Ranger (12/20/13)
@hulu_support What in the world are you doing, running a live event that notoriously runs long and then cutting it off right before the end? Seriously unbelievable
Loved @flanaganfilm and @k8siegel 's Hush (the Shush cut). Finally have the closing show for my long planned marathon of films where a heroine's knowledge of her environment balances the scales, along with Wait Until Dark, Panic Room & Red Eye.
@flanaganfilm just finished up another rewatch of Midnight Mass, and I'm shook by the fact that paperwork in Sheriff Hassan's office puts Crockett Island in Washington State. Is this really the setting? I always assumed this was a New England story, not a PNW one
Four movies I’d curate for the Criterion Collection:
Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (Aditya Chopra, 1995)
Lingua Franca (Isabel Sandoval, 2020)
Style Wars (Tony Silver, 1983)
Stop! (Bill Gunn, 1970)
@katiewalshstx Not directly tied to a holiday, but the lovely community spirit of Bill Forsyth's LOCAL HERO makes it feel like the perfect film for the season
@TheFilmFeast@danielsarath@ArrowFilmsVideo I can't seem to find any info online on the international cut or how it differs from the US theatrical one. I agree it seems unlikely to be the director's cut, but I would think there's some difference, otherwise why call it out?
Any idea on what this cut is?
@AcornTV I'm loving your service so far, but I have to provide one minor piece of feedback: the volume on your Acorn TV logo that plays before an episode is SO LOUD, like dramatically louder than the episodes. Please, as a quality of life improvement, I beg you to turn it down.
@GenevieveKoski I'm catching up on @NextPicturePod eps from years past, and just finished the Roan Inish/Wolfwalkers pair. Super curious to hear whether you've gotten a chance to see any more John Sayles films since then and, if yes, if you liked them?
@HBOMaxHelp is your service down? Can browse the collection, but every item I try to play just has three spinning dots and eventually a "couldn't play this title" message. This is on the Amazon Fire app.
