Ducky does it: building trading bots, reclaiming fitness, projects, hobbies, and general nerdery. Honestly sharing wins, losses, and lessons along the way.
Which AI agent do you actually use day to day? Mine's mostly Dot and Grok Bot right now, and Grok Bot is winning for what I do. Haven't tried Claude's Duet yet. What do you stick with?
I’m working on implementing local AI that will run in conjunction with JEV to scan and execute trades. My agent will be tagged in when a setup arises that needs a decision to be made regarding trade setup. This is intended to:
1. Scan more frequently and find more opportunities
2. Safe me a ton of frontier usage and $
3. Free up more time for me to build other things
How I run my AI agents: my Grok Bot agent runs point, and specialist agents under it handle trading research, X drafts, fact checks and my workout log. Every strategy starts on paper, and for now nothing posts without my OK.
@TedSkeen I mainly wanted to see its logic and the chain of actions it was taking. I approved almost everything at first. Now it’s just execution on trade setups that it finds on its own. I hope to let that run fully autonomously at some point though.
@DanKornas This is the part I keep running into. My agents are only as good as what they can find. I keep my notes in an Obsidian vault, so something like this is interesting to me.
@LucasBMarkets That's why I test new strategies on paper first. My Grok Bot agent pulls any strategy that falls behind its backtest. Having a baseline to measure against is the whole point.
@SuccessBluePrtX The slower version is the one I want. Working on getting my nutrition back under control and walking every day instead of chasing quick results. Less exciting, but I can keep doing it.
@BenBikmanPhD Didn't know that one. I'm at the start of losing weight for my heart, 283.2 lb on day one, so it's one more reason to go steady and keep working on getting my nutrition under control.
@bigleemurali Mobility. I’m so tight that it takes me a while to warm up. That increases the time dedicated to lifting. If I skip a day; its even harder to get limber when I return.
@FitAndFortune Walking is totally underrated is the one I'd underline. Since my heart disease diagnosis it's the base of my routine. I walk every day, some short, some long, and lift at home on top of it.
@Wegiveyouhealt1 Good timing on this. I'm rebuilding after a heart disease diagnosis and I walk every day, so the cold mornings are something I need to take seriously this winter.
Running Hermes and Grok Bot side by side right now, so this lands close to home. Importing routines paused so nothing runs twice is a smart touch. Has anyone moved a full setup over yet? Curious how the skills and memories held up.
Hermes can now import your whole Grok Bot setup with one command
@Teknium just merged it into hermes-agent main:
- hermes migrate grok-bot
- your routines become Hermes cron jobs, same schedule and time zone
- skills, memories and your bot's role come with them
- routines arrive paused, so nothing runs twice while you switch
- no logins handed over: each bot writes its own export
It also works for OpenClaw, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and OpenBot.
Just run hermes migrate and it finds what you have.
Paying for ChatGPT, Claude, Grok and a couple of agent tools. They're so evenly matched now it's hard to justify them all plus the separate conversations. Considering Paperclip for specialist agents under one main agent. Has anyone used it for that?
My heart and fitness rebuild right now:
Walks every day. Some short, some long.
Strength training.
Weigh-ins, posted as they move.
Getting nutrition back under control.
Every workout logged with my Grok Bot agent.
Nothing fancy yet. Just showing up and building discipline.
After my heart disease diagnosis, walks became the base of my fitness pyramid. Easy to do anywhere, and I get books, podcasts and time to destress. Throw on a pack and it's a ruck. 283 lb to start and lifting at home too, but the walk holds it all up.
Take more walks. Walk off a bad mood. Walk to get some sun. Walk to listen to something that teaches you. Walk for your heart, your brain, and your blood sugar.
One small walking habit can change everything.
@asmDevsit I think the follow through is better as well. It finishes a task or build instead of telling me it finished a single step or component and then stalling.
Which AI agent do you actually use day to day? Mine's mostly Dot and Grok Bot right now, and Grok Bot is winning for what I do. Haven't tried Claude's Duet yet. What do you stick with?
@EerieExposure Yeah, good catch. I’m going to take some bands with me to work every day. I can do a lot of different rowing and other pulling exercises with those.
Starting Nov 1st: 100 push-ups a day for 30 days.
Heart disease diagnosis, 283 lbs, rebuilding from scratch in my home gym.
Who's in with me? Drop a 🦆 and I'll tag you in the daily check-ins.
And what should I add in December? Squats? Burpees? Tell me.
Ducky does it: replaced 4 old windows myself today.
Pulled the original wood sashes, stuffed insulation into the old sash-weight pockets, and set in new double-hungs. 🦆
