It is good to know about God but it is better to know God.
The Bible is more than an instruction manual. It is God telling us who He is.
Bickering with other denominations is self-love. If Jesus was standing in front of you and asked you what you were doing for him, what would you say? Would you be able to say you know him or you know about him?
Would you tell him you argued with a bunch of Catholics because they ask His mom to pray for them? Would you tell him you nitpick the Bible verse by verse and argue pointlessly online with strangers? Would you be able to tell him you loved your neighbor, or people you disagree with especially in matters of theology, people you can’t stand that make you want to drink or throw a chair at, people who have wronged you, people you are enemies with? Would you tell him you took videos of yourself to show everyone how nice you look for church?
Whatever version of the Bible you read, what did He say the greatest commandment is?
How many times did he mention being humble or being childlike?
When Jesus sent the apostles out two by two, he instructed them to move on if they were not welcomed. Spread your message with love and humility remembering you are not the center. Trust that the Holy Spirit will turn the hearts of those made of stone, eventually, and it might not be you that does it. Pray for these people.
Pray for those you disagree with, don’t like, are enemies with, who have wronged you, and especially those that have no faith or hate faith in Jesus. Love them like you love your dearest friend, spouse, parents, and children.
I’m guilty of all of these faults. I will change and I am changing. We, all Christians, must work together for the message of Jesus Christ, with great love, modestly, and with a humble heart. I will not hesitate to tell Jesus one day, this is what I tried to do. Might have been a rough start, surely wasn’t perfect, but i eventually got there with His graces.
A heart of love is more valuable than a mind filled with vast amounts of knowledge or all the money in the world.
Have a blessed Sunday.
@foxweather@mikeseidel@BobVanDillen what do you mean they don’t know who you are on campus?!
Mike Seidel has been a constant presence on my television screen for over 30 years now during hurricanes and severe weather seasons. Tenure and trust built over the decades is what I want when I tune in and not just for forecasts but for the story on the ground. He’s a legend and one of the greats in the industry.
If you have a chance to watch the daily mass on @EWTN today, I would encourage you to do so. The homily today was excellent. Even if you are not Catholic, the message is good and relevant to the times we are living in.
Follow Jesus and his way to beat evil. I clearly need to do better.
Attention Republicans in Congress:
I do not want to spend:
$5 BILLION+ to provide cash benefits, health care, daycare, and job programs to refugees.
$3,700,000,000 to Israel.
$1,500,000,000 to Egypt.
$2,500,000,000 to Jordan.
$ BILLIONS on your preferred universities who are likely woke and wasting the dollars as it is
Nor do I want:
Mandates for a killswitch in my car!
Continuing to pay for daycare fraud!
Warrantless state surveillance on Americans!
I DO want the SAVE Act passed! And you're already messing even that up!
DO YOUR JOB. FIX THE BILL.
AMERICA FIRST!!!
No one will be. No investigation has ever led to jack squat. They waste enough time until their next break in the calendar year. It’s a show so that the fraud continues and money flows to both sides with no consequences. Nothing should be done to run the country or for the people.
