@TimBrando I love these posts. I’m an 80s kids so for me, it was Don Criqui and Bob Trumpy on NBC AFC games. They took the edge off of the Sundays when it was back to the central NY school gloom on Monday. I was always a Saturday guy as a kid. Probably why I still prefer college to the NFL

@TimBrando Further proof that you just don’t roll out of bed from the NFL & rebuild a college program. It’s a totally different animal, even in this day & age. Pete Carrol at USC was the exception, not the rule. It’s still early in his tenure, but I imagine Mac Brown not looking so bad now

@mark_hokie @dropdgold @TheWildUte Indeed, but Swoffard was too incremental in his approach. If he went bigger, could have had all the Big East football schools plus the Garden in late Feb. He actually saved the Big East as a hoops conference. If he took a rider on Villanova, they would have had Philly too.

@dropdgold @TheWildUte @mark_hokie Agreed. ACC should have done this even back when BC, Miami and VT bolted. They initially wanted Syracuse, but Gov Warner threw a fit for VT. The plan should have been to claim the entire East Coast. I hate UConn but they would have raised the bar in hoops as well.
