Students really enjoy this style of starter, testing their recall across a range of topics! Sentence stems develop oracy and articulation, bounce questioning to maximise engagement, and immediate AFL with RAG rated scores. Always an engaging lesson opening addressing gaps!☺️

You can teach the best vocab lesson, but long-term retention comes from retrieval & spaced practice. I’ve adapted @OchreEducation daily review sheet using cogsci staples (spaced retrieval, interleaving) & also word grouping. Now, wouldn’t it be nice if AI could help plan this?
