Nope! I always say there is no such thing as self-made. It’s a myth.
It took millions of people - from my parents to mentors to friends to competitors to fans and voters - to write my success story. I did not write it alone.
That’s the American Dream - not a lie about going it alone - but the truth that none of us do, and there is always someone with their hand out to lift us up.
If the Administration refuses to release body cam footage of the shooting of Alex Pretti, it is reasonable to assume that it shows he was shot by two United States Border Patrol Agents in cold blood while he was being beaten and kicked in the head by 8 agents and that he never drew his weapon, which he was legally authorized to have, but rather it was pulled from his waistband by an agent and Pretti was shot when he was unarmed.
i think people from the US officially lost their right to being smug and mock chinas authoritarian surveillance state the past decade or so
you have AI flock cameras, palantir, massive surveillance state, being slave to billionaires, cant even touch a pool of water
trump is lying
There is a 24/7 camera and potentially other cameras that show the Reflecting Pool.
If someone went into the pool and made a 250 foot gash, it would have been seen.
Also, there’s no evidence of a 250 foot gash.
@mehdirhasan Trump is too precious to all of them. It’s why they also complain about Trump’s actions by blaming people who talked him into things… while Trump says he makes all his own decisions.
Describing the stopping of the Iran war rather than the starting of the Iran war as the "worst foreign policy blunder in decades" is an insane take and a reminder of just how awful even Trump-critical Republicans are.
"It's not our money, it's their [Iranian] money," Trump tells a Fox (!) reporter.
Literally what Obama and co said in 2015 and got savaged by Trump, the GOP and, yes, Fox for saying so.
If you can’t tax billionaires and trillionaire because “its unrealized gains until they cash out,” then stop letting them leverage that wealth for loans, as collateral, or as equity.
If it’s not real enough to tax, it shouldn’t be real enough to leverage.
This is why we say the system is rigged in favor of the super wealthy. Abolish billionaires, tax them out of existence, protect working people.
Today, Elon Musk, a trillionaire, pays the same amount into Social Security as someone making $184,500.
If we end that absurdity and lift the cap on taxable income, we can make Social Security solvent for 75 years and expand benefits by $2,400. My Social Security bill does that.
