🇷🇴🇲🇩 Romania advances bill calling for unification with Moldova
Romania's lower house of parliament has advanced a bill declaring that Romania and Moldova should become a single sovereign state.
The bill, presented by the "SOS Romania" party, passed the so-called "silent adoption" procedure, which implies that initiatives not considered and not rejected at a plenary session within 45 days are automatically considered approved.
It states that the Parliament of Romania decides on unification with the Republic of Moldova and authorizes the government to immediately begin negotiations with Chisinau.
Now the bill must be considered by the Senate.
Earlier, Moldovan President Maia Sandu spoke in support of the unification of the two countries.
BREAKING: $IBM surged +8% premarket after unveiling its most advanced chip ever made.
IBM just unveiled a new chip design called "0.7nm," the densest one ever built.
It packs nearly 100 billion transistors onto something the size of a fingernail, almost double the density of today's leading chips.
Instead of shrinking transistors further, which has become nearly impossible, IBM is stacking them on top of each other to fit more into the same space.
Every major chipmaker, including TSMC, Intel, and Samsung, has been hitting this same limit. IBM is the first company to actually prove this stacking method works.
Compared to today's chips, IBM says the new design delivers up to 50% faster performance or 70% better energy efficiency.
Future AI chips built this way could run roughly 7 times faster, cutting AI training time significantly.
Real production is still about 5 years away.
