There is no God.
Prayers never worked and they never will.
Nigeria might never get better in my lifetime.
I may never rise above my humble beginnings.
Being a good person doesn't pay.
Funny how karma only works on people who do evil.
"Treat others the way you would like to be treated," I naively held onto this belief for so long, too long that when it finally happened to me, I couldn't believe it. Me? I wasn't perfect but I tried hard, very hard to be good. Look where that got me.
If I survive this, all my morals, principles and conscience would become an afterthought and I, a two-faced hypocrite.
Life might not be a game; you can't press, pause, restart and you can't respawn but you sure as hell can quit.
Yours sincerely,
Okorie Daniel Chibuikem.

ACCEPTANCE SPEECH BY MR. PETER OBI FOLLOWING HIS NOMINATION AS THE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE OF THE NIGERIAN DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS(NDC) โ MAY 30, 2026
Protocols,
Esteemed citizens of Nigeria,
It is with deep humility that I accept the role of presidential candidate for our party.
I express my profound gratitude to the leaders of our party. His Excellency Seriake Dickson, the National Chairman, National Secretary and the National Working Committee, NWC members and members of our relentless supporters, and the Nigerian populace who have steadfastly kept the spirit of hope alive. I commend those who have made the journey from every region of our nation to convene here in Abuja.
I wish to assert unequivocally: a New Nigeria is Possible. This conviction has united us; it must serve as our compass on the challenging road ahead and sustain us through all trials we may face. This pivotal moment transcends the individual ambitions of Peter Obi; it concerns the essence of our nation and the future of our children. It is about rekindling hope for millions who have faced adversity yet remain committed to Nigeria.
Today, our nation finds itself at a crucial juncture, enveloped in uncertainty. Families are anxious about their safety; parents are concerned for their children's futures; and talented youth increasingly question their prospects in their homeland.
Businesses are struggling, communities are suffering, and an alarming number of citizens have lost faith in the very concept of governance. Yet, I stand before you filled with optimism and strong faith in the resilience of our people, for I firmly believe that a New Nigeria is possible.
UNITY
To realise this New Nigeria, we must first mend the foundational elements essential for the success of any nation.
Nigeria cannot advance while fragmented by ethnic, religious, regional, or narrow political divides. We may communicate in different languages and practise diverse faiths, but we share a singular destiny under one flag. Our diversity should not be a source of division; rather, it is among our greatest strengths.
We should build bridges where others erect barriers, replace mistrust with confidence, division with understanding, and resentment with a collective purpose. A united Nigeria is indispensable. As Will Durant wisely pointed out, "A great civilisation is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within." We must never self-destruct. We must heal, unify, and progress together.
INSECURITY
In terms of security, the situation in Nigeria has considerably worsened. The global terrorism impact assessments ranked Nigeria as the 8th most affected nation in 2022, 6th in 2024, and 4th in 2026.
Yet, for many years, Nigeria garnered global recognition as a reliable contributor to peacekeeping, regional stabilisation, and conflict resolution. Our troops have not only displayed bravery but have also shown professionalism, discipline, resilience, and empathy in the most challenging operational contexts. Our officers and personnel have successfully commanded multiple international forthe ces, safeguarded vulnerable civilian populations, monitored ceasefires, reinstated constitutional order, and contributed to rebuilding efforts.
Nigeria became one of the leading contributors of troops from Africa to UN peacekeeping missions and earned widespread admiration for operational effectiveness and leadership in various countries, including Rwanda, Sudan, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Mali, Western Sahara, Congo, Lebanon, Cambodia, Haiti, and Kuwait. At one pointin a Nigeria, Lt. General Isaac Obiakor (rtd) even led global peacekeeping initiatives.
We must address insecurity with resolve and urgency, for no nation can thrive while its citizens live in trepidation. The primary responsibility of the government is to ensure the safeguarding of lives and property.
Chibok Girls; The First Lady literally cried on live TV. She was even turned to a meme.
Yoruba children, Yoruba teacher beheaded; President and First Lady are celebrating APC primaries but you donโt see the issue because you are in Lekki & itโs not your nieces or nephews (yet).
Americans pay $0.08kwh for industry and $0.12kwh for residential use
Nigerians pay $0.122kwh (subsidised) for industry and almost $0.2kwh for residential use
Let's not talk about the Chinese ๐
You people know your target audience when you want to spit out this nonsense trash
Omo, na only for Abia State politicians dey fear to contest for governorship against the sitting governor. ๐๐
Wetin dey occur for that side? ๐ญ๐
@kay_z67 โThere oโ is a grammatical word that means that I am present in this vicinity and that anything that goes down in this environment I will be actively available, addres support the issue, additionally โthere oโ also implies that I donโt move, I call my guys to secure the place ๐
I have one piece to share.
I hope all these TL conversations do not poison your heart.
I hope you're not training your mindspace to start choosing partners from a place of fear, or lowered likelihood to cheat. Ask Israel Juju.
These are faulty compasses.
Churchgoers cheat. Atheists cheat. Hijab wielders cheat.
Virgins cheat. Adelebos cheat. 20s cheat. 30s cheat. 40s cheat.
I hope the factors that calibrate your values, are not from Twitter thinkpieces but are strengthened offline. Else, you will end up as a box of ruin.
My safest predicators for relationships are:
- brackets,
- reciprocity.
If you're doing well financially, box within potentials like you doing well financially. Don't be a 7fig earning techie & you'll be hunting smallies struggling with 200L carryover in Laspotech.
Mental brackets. Intellectual brackets. Financial brackets. Exposure brackets.
One of my theories as to why, people (read men) scale way below these brackets is because they're scripting scenarios for control. They're hunting "bendable" women. Chief, she won't be naive forever - but I'll expand on this, some other time.
Be big on reciprocity. As you're doing for your partner in the early weeks, if they like you they would be doing as much.
Using the filters of brackets and reciprocity, are safer predicators than fear and paranoia.
Why is Amaechi buying nomination form before Atiku? That shows lack of leadership on Atikuโs side. He should have been the first to pick up that form. I was going to support him before but this has discouraged me. Iโm out.
Peter Obi no talk say make Nigeria stop to consume. Wetin him talk be say: make we produce wetin we dey consume, so the money go circulate for inside Nigeria.
But you come dey shout say โrich countries dey consume.โ
Yes, dem dey consumeโฆ but see the part you skip:
United States
โข ~70% of GDP na consumption
โข But dem get tech, agriculture, services, exports to BACK am
China
โข Build power through factories + exports
โข Consumption come AFTER production
Now Nigeria:
โข Oil be ~90% of FX earnings
โข Manufacturing weak
โข We import almost everything
So when Nigerian โconsume,โ wetin happen?
Money comot.
That one no be โproductive consumption,โ na economic leakage.
GDP formula sef clear:
GDP = C + I + G + (X โ M)
If imports (M) pass exports (X),
your โconsumptionโ na just you dey fund another country prosperity.
So Obi no wrong.
Him dey talk policy.
You dey argue vibes.
And make I talk this one too:
I blame Seun Okinbaloye for even bringing Japheth Omojuwa come this kind conversation.
Wetin be Omojuwa business pedigree?
Nothing.
Na social media talking points and propaganda gigs you wan use debate macroeconomics?
Abeg, make him take several seats.
This kind topic need people wey understand production, trade balance, and capital flows, not vibes and noise.
@OmolewaAbraham She isn't unlucky.
She absolutely horrible at picking partners.
And it's a general issue with most women.
They want the handsome and wealthy guy who has game but never think about whether that guy (who has a lot of options btw) wants them.
