Talk about a PR fail... when the CEO of a women's brand is accused of sexual assault. STOP SLEEPING WITH YOUR EMPLOYEES when you're in a position of power. IT'S NOT THAT HARD.
Model alleges she was sexually assaulted by beauty company CEO https://t.co/10MExvE4v9 #newskudo
The P in “PR” doesn’t stand for “professional” but the R is definitely not being remembered.
PR ppl are definitely under a lot of pressure — and I’ve cut off before on the phone (fat ears, bad tech, dropped signal) — but the fact remains to never be rude to journos.
New PR low! PR just hung up on me while I was explaining why I couldn't cover what she was pitching... (It was yesterday's news for a start; she was pitching it as if it were fresh today.) I gather some journalists can be quite abrupt...is that why she felt she could be rude?
'on background' is a #PRfail.
"Reporters are now routinely asked to report things without being able to attribute them... which has dire consequences in our current information landscape, but in practice, it is also hilariously stupid." https://t.co/cM9uks2fff @Verge
Agreed. Huge leadership failure.
But also – IMO – if he was worried the injection would affect his multi-million $ throwing arm... Cool. Understandable-ish. The "I researched it," "I didn't lie," "if you'd asked me more questions, I'd have explained" is just piling on more💩.
No, you literally didn’t.
There are so many nopes happening in this pitch. But the name is a good indication to stay far, far away. #PRfail

As @matthewhughes points out in a comment later, “we don’t need publicists to craft a story, we need them to do their homework.”

As a general rule, if a company pays an outside consulting firm to make an "independent report" about how they're not entirely evil, it's safe to assume it's filled with half-truths, misdirection, and outright lies.
9/10 funding announcements are pointless. Ask yourself why you’re sending it. What’s your goal? Is there something more newsworthy you could talk about? If answering those questions you still think you need one... you still probably don’t.
When those who are supposed to report honestly turn into tabloids, that’s a #PRfail. “How fucking stupid were you pretending to be, exactly?”
But can someone tell @piersmorgan to STFU? He has ZERO moral high ground to stand on. He has zero morals period.

Blaming an employee (who is fired) followed by “but I’m the leader so I take responsibility” is about as inauthentic as one can be.
Note to managers: either take all the blame or don’t take any of it. Yes, the muddy middle is as bad as the latter.

As much as I want to sometimes rush in & get things done, it really makes sense to slow down & have a conversation to understand what the client wants/needs - & ensure we're on the same page.
@GeorgeTakei@BradleyRoss He’s gotta be a troll. This is an awesome parody. I mean, if he isn’t, he doesn’t get to say anything about being draped in pride rainbows when he is adorned in trump paraphernalia.
I get. Social is hard. You’re trying to resonate and celebrate but end up misrepresenting the words of a murdered Black man for the purpose of virtue signaling.
Don't jump on cultural accountability bc it's trending; using people's lives — and deaths — to increase revenue.
The idea that bc the band didn’t post on social media means they don’t deserve access is asinine. Bands are a business. Businesses don’t usually (and they shouldnt...) post on social themselves.
Chris Cornell's widow locked Soundgarden out of their social accounts, so the band is asking a judge to force her to hand over the passwords https://t.co/6crlzDv18l
He’s not wrong.
Allergens aside (that’s a huge issue itself), that SMMs are dealing with this and not customer reps is a ginormous #PRfail. Who at the company really thought an email from SM specialist would suffice? Furthermore, most “specialists” are entry level.
But... but... they also put out a print ad saying the same thing!
We’re pretending the poor SMM had no say in this campaign. And not listening to your experts and managers only ever leads to a #PRfail.
We hear you. We got our initial tweet wrong and we’re sorry. Our aim was to draw attention to the fact that only 20% of professional chefs in UK kitchens are women and to help change that by awarding culinary scholarships. We will do better next time.
Lights are on but nobody’s home... or at work. Begging empty building owners to shut off the lights during power outages is one helluva #PRfail.
And those buildings still on tonight just because they can be. Don’t envy their comms team when this is over.
