Godfather of AI: "If you sleep well tonight, you may not have understood this lecture."
This 47-minute lecture is the best thing I saw about AI in the last few months.
It will definitely help you understand how it actually works and where it's going.
Geoffrey Hinton built the neural networks behind every AI alive, then quit Google to warn the world about it.
The part nobody wanted to hear:
> AI is already developing abilities its creators didn't intend
> in most cognitive tasks it's already ahead of us
> the question is no longer if it surpasses us but when
> the only decision left is which side of that line you're on
Right now the average person opens Claude, types something, gets an answer, closes the tab.
They think they're using AI. they're using maybe 10% of it.
I went through his entire lecture, built a practical system from what he was describing.
18 steps to actually use Claude the right way, with copy-paste prompts that work today.

Wow this is an extraordinary revelation on WHO commissioned that resident doctor strike poll from a week ago and how important data was withheld: https://t.co/z2WFjdCA5O
@sama I am a psychiatrist . The best way to mitigate these risks is for the AI algorithm to detect people who are at highest risk , who come in contact with ChatGPT to be discussed with a psychiatrist / panel of psychiatrist before ChatGPT decides on a response.

A reminder that today, I will be the second lowest paid staff member in the hospital as an F2 doctor.
The lowest paid will be my F1 colleagues.

Due to lack of fear of any consequences, since they’ve no possibility of being struck off or deemed ‘negligent’, management (on a power trip) ignored 7 paeds consultants and let this demon continue to murder babies.
NHS POWER STRUCTURES NEED URGENT REFORM - it’s all connected.
We urgently need;
🔹 Full regulation for all non-clinical managers in healthcare
🔹Ironclad protections for whistleblowers
🔹Cripplingly punitive penalties for employers who target whistleblowers
🔹Comprehensive safety management systems
🔹Wholesale review of NHS VSM structures
EXCLUSIVE: The doctor who helped catch Britain’s worst baby killer.
Dr Ravi Jayaram spent two years pleading with hospital managers to investigate Lucy Letby.
Instead, they made him apologise and attend mediation with her.
This is the toxic environment that UK doctors have to work in. I can't imagine any other workplace that would tolerate this behaviour. This isn't a prison but a UK NHS hospital.
The general public / our senior NHS leaders should pause to reflect and wonder why so many junior doctors are leaving the UK.
