I'm like a superhero but without being super or a hero. People occasionally tell me I'm tall. Welcome to my insomniac stream of consciousness. @developerjatt
i just don’t get the hoopla about brown man. he’s not as good as everyone seems to think he is. he puts up numbers, but he’s inefficient, his defense has taken a nosedive, he can’t dribble or pass or make reads, there is no reason why denver should want him next to jokic.
yes nuggets should trade the two best players in this trade for 3 significantly worse players, one on a much, much worse contract. fantastic mock trade.
if you traded brown for gordon straight up in 2024, and gordon stays healthy, they still win the title. the finals mvp thing felt more political than anything. brown was very good in the 2024 playoffs (from what i remember) but he definitely wasn’t the most valuable.
jokic delays his extension and the next day we get absolutely ridiculous mock trades lmao. this is gonna be a long season unless jokic signs it on july 6
i would take scottie barnes for murray and gordon tho. he’s pretty much the perfect 4 next to jokic
(this is just as ridiculous as the original mock trade)
yeah there’s no way THJ is choosing denver’s messed up roster situation over living in miami while getting the wide open looks giannis will give him. he’s gone lmao
Trading our elite shooter/solid defender/ high IQ player, in a market where you can’t get shit back, is something nuggets fans are too ok with.
I am concerned.
@ksenguptaa they’re shopping him because they’re trying to save money to stay out of the luxury tax, not because his legitimate injury concerns are forcing them to.
@rjerome217 Isaiah Joe or Daniss Jenkins are not starters on a title contender. Robinson could be as long as they have a defensive four like Aaron Gordon or John Collins.
I think it’s interesting (and disappointing) that the Pistons aren’t listed as a potential team for Cam. It may be the injury concerns, or they may not view him as a 4. But he could easily be the starting 3 and move Ausar to the 2. I don’t get why they don’t at least make a call.
The Lakers, Heat, Clippers, Celtics, and Magic have shown interest in Cam Johnson, per @MikeAScotto
“Meanwhile, as the Nuggets navigate getting below the second apron, sharpshooting forward Cam Johnson has drawn trade interest from several teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Clippers, and Orlando Magic, league sources told HoopsHype. The 30-year-old forward shot career-highs from the field (.480) and beyond the arc (.430), and is on an expiring $23.06 million contract for the upcoming season.”

So Detroit hasn’t even called Denver at all it sounds like. Cool. What a wasted opportunity to get a starter (either Cam or AG) at a much-needed position for very few assets.
Teams that have been linked to Aaron Gordon this offseason:
Boston Celtics
Portland Trail Blazers
Miami Heat
“Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon was considered among the contingency plans for the Heat if the franchise didn’t land Giannis Antetokounmpovia trade, league sources told HoopsHype. Similarly, the Portland Trail Blazers have expressed trade interest in Gordon should they not land Jaylen Brown, their preferred target, HoopsHype has learned. Ironically, the Celtics have also kept tabs on Gordon from afar.”

He’s worth much more than that, but injury issues combined with the entire league knowing Denver is cutting salary means that’s all most teams would be willing to offer. But if needed I would do up to Holland plus 2 FRPs for Gordon. Those picks will probably be late 20s anyways.
