@SECGov & @CFTC released No. 33‑11412 — a landmark joint interpretive rule establishing definitive guidelines for applying U.S. federal securities laws to crypto assets and related activities.

Core breakdown of this historic rule:
1. 5‑tier crypto classification — most assets (BTC, ETH, NFTs, mining, staking) = NOT securities (CFTC commodity oversight)

2. Howey Test confirmed as the sole standard + new de‑securitization path for mature projects

3. Full clarity for staking (incl liquid staking), wrapping, and free airdrops — all non‑securities

4. Predictable compliance for issuers, DeFi, exchanges, and institutions
