On the other hand, the secret briefing materials produced by MI6 as part of the process of vetting Mandelson for the job of British Ambassador to the US, the most significant red flags were his connections to Israel or Zionist assets.

A major fire broke out on Saturday at the burial site of Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi (the Alter Rebbe) in Hadiach, Poltava Oblast, Ukraine.

The fire reportedly damaged the historic synagogue, the pilgrimage reception center, and parts of the religious complex surrounding the grave. The site is one of the most important destinations in Chabad-Lubavitch Judaism, attracting tens of thousands of pilgrims from around the world each year, particularly around the anniversary of the Alter Rebbe’s passing.

Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi (1745–1812) was the founder of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement and author of the Tanya, one of the foundational texts of Hasidic Judaism. Authorities have not yet announced the cause of the fire.
