More than 70 pecent of the end-of-life lithium-ion batteries in the US flow through Redwood Materials to be recycled into their base elements. Redwood is now the largest Cobalt producer in the US, as a result.
We spent a day with Redwood's CEO JB Straubel to see the whole operation in action. https://t.co/IdadswB8Dl
Important nuance worth noting: Francis didn’t actually propose standard “Universal Basic Income.” He called for a “universal basic wage” (salario universal). Cardinal Czerny clarified the very next day that this was not UBI — it was a targeted measure to publicly recognize and dignify the already-existing essential labor of informal workers (recyclers, caregivers, street vendors, etc.), giving them rights as workers rather than a no-strings handout.
Leo XIV’s emphasis on work as the path to dignity (¶149) actually aligns more closely with Francis’s original wording than the broader UBI framing that later media coverage gave it. Still a real shift in emphasis though — classic CST reasserted for the AI age.

Free the books you own by copying them locally:
For clean EPUB or PDF files: you can download them directly from your Amazon "Manage Your Content and Devices" page. These are fully unencrypted and portable.
But most mainstream/publisher books still have DRM enabled by default, so if it is legal for you, you can strip the DRM:
Pre-April 2025 books:
Straightforward with older pinned Kindle for PC/Mac + Calibre + updated DeDRM plugins (community forks handle KFX). USB from compatible old Kindles sometimes works.
Post-April 2025 / recent books:
Much harder. Free Calibre + DeDRM often fails or needs very specific finicky setups. Paid tools like Epubor Ultimate handle newer KFX better but aren’t foolproof and can break with updates.
@DavidFischer You mean these aliens use deception, lies, distraction, and diversion, which effectively waste human time and energy on falsehoods instead of truth, prayer, virtue, and relationship with God? I hope he is on the side of God.
@ProtonVPN Your profile also "knows" the profiles of
spouse/children/parents/anyone you are regularly with because of location tracking. On the "creepy" side you definitely forgot that part @protonvpn
It's probably also why seems to be
"listening"
St. Paul did exactly this in Acts 17:22-23,28:
Ye men of Athens… I found an altar also, on which was written: To the unknown God. What therefore you worship, without knowing it, that I preach to you… For in him we live, and move, and are.
Pope Leo XIV is closely following this exact apostolic tradition when he quotes Nostra Aetate. The Church has always recognized “rays of truth” in other religions while still proclaiming Christ as the unique Saviour. Nothing new here.
Pope Leo XIV affirms the Catholic Church's openness to truth and goodness in other religions, as he meets with the Programme for Christian-Muslim Relations in Africa.

@elonmusk Thanks. Also add it to the passenger (safest) seat. Next a cheap car for a 4-6 child family and help the world become normal again. And change the absurd current definition of “family car”.
