Today, KAM Chief Executive @TobiasAlando spoke at the Kenya-Japan Business Forum, emphasizing the potential for stronger collaboration between Kenya and Japan. The event, which was attended by leaders from Kenya’s private sector, manufacturers, and Japanese investors, provided a platform for exploring opportunities to scale businesses through international partnerships.
Tobias Alando highlighted Kenya's strong manufacturing potential as an attractive opportunity for Japanese investors. He emphasized the country’s access to over 50% of global GDP, thanks to preferential trade agreements such as EAC, COMESA, AfCFTA, and the EU Economic Partnership Agreement.
Key investment opportunities discussed included:
🎯 Skills development to boost productivity,
🎯 Joint ventures to strengthen trade and investment between Kenya and Japan,
🎯 Technology transfer to support value addition, and
🎯Aligning agriculture with industrialization for enhanced growth.
Alando also highlighted Kenya’s strategic advantages, including its prime location, skilled workforce, technology-driven economy, and robust infrastructure, which collectively position the country as an ideal hub for investment and industrialization.
As one of the largest and most developed economies in the world, Japan’s well-educated, industrious workforce, coupled with its large, affluent population, creates vast opportunities for business expansion, partnerships, and investments.
