Let’s think this one through. He had a sinus infection recently. His radio message requested a doctor and a “shot”. My guess is that he was given systemic steroids for the sinus infection. The steroids will make you feel better for sure. Perfect if you cannot afford down time ie…your son’s birthday and another race. However, overuse and weaken/suppress the immune system. In rare cases lead to severe illness. Sepsis is a likely candidate.

The steroids will make you feel better but don’t treat the virus/bacteria causing the infection. My guess is the Kyle didn’t want down time; therefore, kept requesting steroid shots from his doctor.
