The government signed us up to an EU migrant quota system where 50% is based on population and 50% is based on GDP. Ireland has 1% of the EU’s population, but our GDP is leprechaun economics, a nonsensical fantasy figure ridiculed by economists around the world. Brussels uses it because our government let them. €6.4 billion is just the accommodation bill, which I assume doesn’t include welfare payments made to thousands of asylum seekers (most of whom shouldn’t be here), administrative costs. I assume it doesn’t include the cost of paying Ukrainians for accommodation and welfare payments.
The people are crying out for financial help and the government say they can’t afford to give anymore help, while we are wasting billions on a reckless immigration policy.

Companies like Dídean Dochas Éireann Teoranta Ltd must be closely examined.

This private company is paid ~€5.3 million every three months to buy homes it then owns permanently through offshore structures. It is not an Approved Housing Body, so it avoids housing laws, oversight, and public accountability.

In 2024, this company paid €4,780,334 in "management fees" to related group companies🚩🚩🚩

The 490 asylum seekers from the 12 closed IPAS centres may have received leave to remain "status" before closure.

They may very well be housed in local authority social housing, or in receipt of hap, and have been assisted by an army of government funded NGOS in entering the private rental market as IPAS arrivals can access social housing/HAP once they're given "status".

While countless Irish people are being made homeless or living in "hidden homeless" conditions, the state and its NGOS are working overtime to make sure the "new Irish" aren't left wanting.
