Not a single Democrat or self-proclaimed moderate should vote to confirm anybody to the Supreme Court over the next two years. And if you have a problem with that, blame Mitch McConnell.
In our final day of campaigning, I was down in Pueblo which is covered in smoke due a wild fire. It is up to State AG's to take on Big Oil and Tech companies that are destroying our environment. I will put the law on the side of the people and fight for the many, not the money.
The open Colorado Attorney General primary hasn’t gotten nearly as much attention as CO-01, CO-Gov, or CO-Sen.
But it should.
David Seligman — the most progressive candidate running — has spent his entire career fighting to protect the rights of consumers, workers & immigrants.
For decades he’s been winning major cases against Big Tech, corporate landlords, medical debt collectors, the Polis administration & the Trump administration — including a recent U.S. Supreme Court case victory to rein in ICE.
He was the only AG candidate to call on the state legislature to call a special session to impeach Jared Polis after he commuted the sentence of Tina Peters.
Anyone who has ever been in a room with him or has heard him speak knows he would be a phenomenal (and highly activist) Attorney General.
I’ve had the pleasure of polling for and advising his campaign for the better part of a year. Sometimes you like, but don’t love, the candidates you work for, but this is not one of those cases.
David is genuinely one of the best human beings I have ever met. His passion for this work is boundless. His moral compass is unparalleled. And his work ethic is unlike anything I’ve ever seen.
As AG he would:
✅ Establish an ICE Accountability Unit to hold immigration agents and ICE contractors accountable
✅ Prosecute health insurance companies who systematically deny claims and go after predatory providers and collectors that bill patients for medical debt they don’t owe
✅ Create an environmental enforcement unit to protect communities harmed by pollution and require polluters and fracking companies to pay for damage
✅ Fight back against corporate landlords and eviction mills that raise rents, illegally evict tenants, charge excessive fees, and maintain unsafe housing
✅ Investigate and prosecute government officials using insider information to profit from the stock market and prediction markets
✅ Crack down on corporations abusing AI to spy on workers and families and jack up prices on consumers
And that’s just a small taste of what he would roll up his sleeves to get done as AG.
If you live in Colorado and haven’t yet voted, and you like what you see above, you know what to do by Tuesday at 7pm.
America 250 was going to be like a World Fair that would have attracted millions of people.
But Trump stole the money, denied permits, & renamed it Freedom 250 so he could make it all about himself & Republicans.
Trump stole America's Birthday from you! 🤬
Hi @NYTimesPR, thanks for responding. Appreciate it. I'm a subscriber and I think some of your reporters do some great reporting.
Just to respond to your response to my post:
1) There were no facts "misstated" by me. You cited three examples in response. Only one of them was about specific *named* GOP House members (and it wasn't from "yesterday", it was from a year ago.) So I stand by my post.
2) As others have pointed out already, none of the 3 articles you cited have the names of any GOP individuals in the titles ("Right-Wing Republicans" "a Kansas Republican" "G.O.P. Fingerprints"), in comparison to your original "Who is Darializa" takedown piece. Where is your "Who is Brandon Gill" or "Who is Keith Self" or "Who Is Randy Fine" or "Who Is Mary Miller" critical profile pieces? How about "Who is Tom Emmer," given the GOP House Majority Whip just a few days ago spewed racist crap about Somalis? And where are the Peter Baker tweets summarizing *their* most controversial claims?
3) This isn't a new criticism. Many have made it against your paper for many years; that you go harder on the left than the right, that you even occasionally whitewash the far right. Remember when you had to do a public response in 2017 to a NYT profile that went super soft on a... Nazi? https://t.co/IF6DhTwcrp. Remember when you guys did a softball piece about a far-right, Islamophobic Trump aide's love for cooking? https://t.co/dp0Sf9PQg9.
Oh, and dare I ask: where are the fawning 'Trump voters' in diners' equivalent pieces for DSA members in NYC bodegas? Isn't it time?
4) Finally, that your response to my post was to proudly say you guys at the Times have "been documenting the increasingly extreme viewpoints on both sides of the political spectrum" kinda makes my point for me. One side's extreme wants universal healthcare and an end to genocide. The other side's extreme says Somalis are "garbage" and wants "remigration", mass deportations and white supremacy.
But, hey, "Both sides!"
In many parts of the country now, ICE pays state police set up immigration checkpoints in the interior of the United States. The assault on our freedom as Americans is unrelenting.
Vance recognizes that the Watergate break-in is like a cub scout prank compared to the massive, all-encompassing corruption and criminality of the Trump presidency.
If Musk had done nothing (instead of doing something illegal) people who are now dead would still be alive. Degenerates like John will cut and paste a lot of words to confuse this basic point. But they know better.
Katie Miller has a master's degree and a career. It appears that she has consistently worked since she was 20. She can open a bank account, own property, and have a credit card in her name. She has access to no-fault divorce and would be entitled to child support for her baby if she and Stephen Miller divorce. She has laws protecting her against physical abuse and rape by her spouse. She had access to birth control and abortion, meaning that having a baby was a choice.
She is very much not living the life that the "propaganda. . . convinced" women was oppressive. She is living the life that feminism made possible.
Of course, she knows this. She's just a liar.
Peters was speaking with MAGA podcaster Joe Oltmann, who has called for the execution by hanging of Polis and other “Synagogue of Satan Jews” that Oltmann claims control Colorado.
Independent analyses estimate that your actions to dismantle USAID and drastically reduce lifesaving foreign aid have already killed 700,000 people. Here are some of those people. 🧵https://t.co/aKdQpk9QTW
Yup! And he's somewhat right: Trump does stuff like this every week and it's a 12 hour news story rather than impeachment as it should be. Thanks, @SenateGOP@GOP
Thanks to Watergate, we know that Nixon’s staff broke into his political opponent’s HQ & Ellsberg’s psychiatrist’s office, and that Nixon himself approved obstructing justice to cover these crimes up, tried to use the IRS to punish enemies, and was cool with breaking finance law
