Popping my head back over here to say I have 3 Bluesky invites in case anyone I know that's left still wants to jump ship and hasn't been able to get an invite yet
I haven't really been here much since early in Trump's term when this site became less fun and all anxiety, but I can't take the x so I'm peacing out for real. For now I'm on all the slightly less terrible billionaire's sites at the same user name.
@luckytran@tmprowell I swear it’s like hospitals saying we know washing hands helps save lives but it takes too much time, it makes my skin dry, the soap costs too much money, and people don’t always wash their hands outside the hospital so no one needs to wash their hands if they don’t want to.
@skominers Yep! I had an appointment last week where there the doctor was coughing all over and not masked. I had on an N95 because I’m immunocompromised but still got sick. Luckily with just a cold and not COVID.
@tmprowell I just can’t believe even hospitals and doctors office have dropped mask mandates. I’m immunocompromised and am sitting in a doctors office inside a hospital right now and I’m the only patient or staff member wearing a mask.
@LauraMLippman Loved the book! Never sure if I should say anything to authors if I spot an error in a galley, but the Wine Source is on Elm Ave not Street. It's a common mistake thanks to a certain horror franchise. I've even received mail from an official Baltimore City agency with that error.
@tmprowell Sadly it’s never to late to fall prey to misinformation and bad government messaging. My parents who had 1 booster now refusing vaccines because the pandemic is over, vaccines are now more dangerous than COVID and these weren’t tested.
@tmprowell And I would dare say it may be the leading cause of death since cancer and heart disease are a bunch of different diseases lumped under a single category
@tmprowell We had to abandon a vacation partway through this weekend because of a positive COVID case and the Airbnb host refunded part of our money unexpectedly.
@epiphanyinbmore Actual colonoscopy is not bad at all. You just can’t work or drive after because of the anesthesia. Try to book your appointment for early in the morning because you will be starving after eating only broth and jello the day before.
@epiphanyinbmore I have to do them every 1-2 years because of medical conditions. The prep day is the worst. You don’t generally need to take the whole day for that, but you need to start prep usually around 4.
@tmprowell @projectn95 Thanks for your thread back in the winter. It helped me find the 3M Aura to help for my tiny face. It’s obviously not fit tested but after spending lots of money to try different masks it’s the first one I found that doesn’t have any noticeable gaps around my face.
