@spencerbrief8 To me, the best gift in this world is truth! We all need to be alright with being wrong or just slightly off & just admitting it for everyone’s sake. I think my commentary regarding the situation isn’t as simple as I put it. Honesty above pride.
Does this annoy anyone else? Yesterday there were genuine conversations surrounding George Floyd. Today Target is #1 trending & now all I see are discussions around the morality of looting.
“5 years after SafeZone was founded, Allen reflected, ‘We absolutely own the streets. ‘Lifestyle offenders’ now know that if they commit a crime downtown, they will be prosecuted successfully, because we’re going to have the video to back it up.’ Video gave MPD eyes everywhere..”
I found this today. Apparently back in 2004 target funded a big brother initiative to make the city “feel safer” justified by the broken window theory. Ironic. Maybe I was wrong in my initial assessment as to why target was given attention:

Stumbled upon this reporter who lives in Minneapolis usually covering labor & housing. Scroll through the last few days of his tweets so you can see how all this transpired through the eyes of a local.
I know I need to learn to listen more. Being locked up has made me much more reflective. I’ve always felt creating events & safe spaces for artists to express themselves & have conversations was good. But it’s gotta be more than that too. More intentional inclusion & new voices.
I guess my point of all this is to ask you all to try and find a way in your immediate circle to bring change. Tweeting your thoughts & being vocal online can be good too — but it’s gotta be more than that.
We’ve been receiving so much love on our new record today and that’s just the best feeling. Thank you all for giving us a chance 😄❤️

@_indigoluke Well it’s on every major streaming platform currently, but technically there isn’t a way for you to buy it right now hahaha. I’ll upload it to bandcamp today so you can download it.
Our dear friend @alannafloreck made a photo journal of Furnace over the last 4 years. These moments make me so reminiscent and feel so confirming. A testament to the power of local art. Check it: https://t.co/gQsTMsAuuU
