@hatpinwoman Acting like she was cast in a drama or something when Anne Boleyn is essentially Avril Lavigne in a girl band with the other wives. Give me a break guys, YOU’RE the performative ones.
They’re acting like Dylan Mulvaney has been cast in an Anne Boleyn drama film (which I wouldn’t care about if she had) when THIS is what they’re mad about. A fictionalized version of Anne based on Avril Lavigne in a girl band with the other wives…
Saw that Dylan Mulvaney is playing Anne Boleyn 🙄. What a performative piece of casting
Not being able to produce a living heir for Henry V111 was such a tragic part of Anne Boleyn’s story and it was a huge part of why she was killed by him
If she had been a man, no one would have killed her for not bearing the King a son
And the saddest thing is she miscarried, likely a son. So she had to suffer that loss
Her whole history, her context, and the impact of her sex on her life, is completely collapsed if she’s reimagined as a bloke in a frock
And her daughter Elizabeth 1 was not only one of our greatest monarchs but also had her life entirely altered by the fact of being female
It’s interesting to see how often a lack of desire to understand history is present in people who lack empathy for others. Especially empathy for women.
Seems like you need to actually care about people to care about the people of the past
If they can rewrite women of now, of course they won’t feel much shame about rewriting the women of back then
But it’s as stupid as it is sad
