Irony: (noun) a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects. Example: A protest against excessive force that is met by excessive force.
Join us, along with @ACLU_SC , @ROOTandREBOUND, and @SCLawPod, as we analyze the laws available for prosecuting cops in SC and the recent decision to not prosecute the officers responsible for #jamalsutherland death. Wed at 8pm @sc4cjr fb live https://t.co/pIcOg8bjHL
It was excruciating hearing her express how they can’t prove criminal intent by looking at the minds of the officers but repeatedly said “they perceived this” and “they perceived that”… blamed their training, said it was wrong, but won’t hold ANYONE criminally liable a shame

BREAKING: In major First Amendment case on student speech, the Supreme Court rules 8-1 in favor of a former high school student who was disciplined by her public school after sending a vulgar message on Snapchat complaining about the school's cheerleading squad.
I’m at the @WiltonManorsCty Stonewall #Pride Parade — a truck just drove into the crowd. The driver is in police custody.
I’m lucky to be safe, but at least two people were hit and are in critical condition.
All of us here all praying for them and their families.
glad to know the law continues to protect religious establishments from their blatant discrimination against LGBTQ+ people and permits it in doing so under the freedom of exercise clause…
Remarkable how the Church will go into the business of selling children then DEMAND to be contracted thru the city when they explicitly refuse to allow same-sex couples from building families
I voted today to uphold our laws, while so-called pro-law enforcement @GovRonDeSantis is encouraging people to break the law with politically-motivated stunts.
We may not agree with every law, but we are obligated to follow them as the price of a civil society.
My statement.👇
When asked about the murders of his political opponents, Vladimir Putin just brought up the Jan 6th shooting of domestic terrorist Ashli Babbitt.
Saying she was “unarmed & shot on the spot.”
Just in case you’re wondering who the Republicans are getting their talking points from.
This might be a long shot, but I’m literally the ONLY statewide elected Democrat in Florida. What if we could beat @GovRonDeSantis to a million followers?!?
He’s starting at 992k.
We’re starting at 171k.
Would send a huge message that Democrats aren’t giving up on Florida.
Check out our latest legal blog post re: the executions scheduled for SC this month and what the electric chair process looks like (written by: @dylanbitar_jd) https://t.co/OhS2cxB22m
South Carolina will be breaking out its 109 year old electric chair on June 18. This will be SC’s first execution since 2011 and the first time in modern history that a state will be forcing electrocution, instead of offering lethal injection, on a death row inmate.
In case you needed another reason to believe that electrocution is an archaic and cruel form of punishment, you probably won’t be surprised to learn that South Carolina’s electric chair is 109 years old. It’s about to be dusted off ten days from today.
Despite questions of the new law’s constitutionality forcing people to die by barbaric methods as opposed to their elected/previous sentencing… Circuit judge refused to block newly scheduled executions. The first executions set in SC in ten-years will be done by electrocution
VICTORY: The Supreme Court just ruled that researchers and journalists who use common investigative techniques online should not fear liability under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.
